I'm trying to learn Spanish by watching telenovelas. Please share your comments about the shows, too. I know I'm not the only English-speaking person who's hooked on telenovelas!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 3

Bertha tried to hug Gonzalo, and he told her rudely, "I'm not drunk." (ie he's only interested in her when he's drunk)

Fabricio told Alejandro that Bertha says Florencia's illness is not serious. (He doesn't know that Bertha told Gonzalo that Florencia will die soon.)

Miranda asked Gonzalo to throw Bertha out of the house, and Gonzalo told Bertha she has to move out right away. Bertha got revenge on Miranda by paying a servant to beat Miranda's horse, Chocolate. The horse was so badly injured that it had to be shot, and Miranda was heartbroken. She was told that a jaguar probably attacked Chocolate, but she doesn't think that's very likely.

Fernanda, the doctor, was told that she has only 48 hours to clear everyone out of the clinic. She was upset because there's nowhere for the patients to go. Later Alejandro visited and said something to himself about the clinic paying for Gonzalo's sins. Then he said, "No, I won't permit it."

He went inside and talked to Fernanda, telling her he can help her, and they soon discovered that they know each other because Fernanda used to be in love with Alejandro's father. Fernanda mentioned that his father is dead, and Alejandro said, "No. He was murdered." (Presumably his father is the man that Gonzalo keeps having flashbacks about shooting in a jealous rage after catching him with Fernanda.)

Miranda had a chat with Fernanda and mentioned that she also wants to do social work, but her father doesn't want her to because he believes in the separation of social classes.

Fernanda asked an elderly patient her name and the woman said, "Natividad de Cruz." Fernanda exclaimed, "It is Nati! Please Lord, let me help her."

Fabricio's mother, Rebeca, yelled at him for breaking up with Miranda, saying, "You are being irresponsible, playing with the feelings of two women."

Bertha told Florencia and Renata that Gonzalo ordered her to move out of the house. They were appalled and offered to go with her, but Bertha said no. She mentioned that their mother abandoned them to be with another man.

Bertha looked at some secret papers and said something about making Gonzalo pay. I think the papers have something to do with Alejandro's father.

After hearing about the death of Miranda's horse, Alejandro sent her another horse as a gift. Miranda went out riding, looking for him. When she met him, he said, "Let me guess, you have too much pride to accept this gift from me." She said, "No, I will keep the horse because I like him, but don't think you're going to conquer me with presents."

She asked Alejandro what kind of business is doing with her father, and Alejandro said they are planning to build hotels. Miranda said haughtily, "I have nothing more to say to you," and he laughed and rode away.

He dropped his cell phone. It rang, so Miranda picked it up and answered. The female caller asked for Alejandro, and Miranda said, "He is sleeping. This is his girlfriend. Who is this?" The caller replied, "I am his daughter."
