Heridas de Amor - Episode 40

Alejandro tried to question his uncle, the priest Santiago, about his mother, but Santiago said he can't tell what he knows because of the sanctity of confession. They had an argument about this.

Alejandro went home and drew a picture of Miranda, then said, "I can't follow you, Miranda. Now more than ever I am sure of my revenge," and tore up the picture.

Santiago called Alejandro and said he doesn't want to fall out with his only relative. He came to visit Alejandro and they made up. Santiago told Alejandro he had punished by the church after being falsely accused of drinking and carousing with women.

Al. asked who accused Santiago but Santiago wouldn't answer. He said it happened around the time Sofia (Alejandro's mother) died of cancer, when he was having a crisis of faith. Al. tried to ask about his mother's death, and again Santiago wouldn't answer because of the sanctity of confession. Alejandro said, "You mean my mother was murdered?" Santiago wouldn't answer.

Alejandro discussed all this with Daira and she told him he should be suspicious of Bertha.

Juan told Miranda that Florencia isn't responding to her medication and he's going to have it tested.

Bertha was jealous of Fernanda after learning Florencia is actually Alfredo's daughter. She said to herself, "Fernanda has everything. I have nothing."

Juan told Raul that having money isn't important, what's important is having good values. Miranda overheard this and seemed to approve.

The hacienda employee, Gavino, went for a walk with a woman named Arcadia who is apparently his wife. She said they need to get away from Bertha because she's very bad. She asked who killed Miranda's horse and Gavino admitted it was him. They found Nati (the woman who escaped from the nursing home) who had collapsed beside the road.

Renata called Bertha and told her that Juan and Fernanda are going to have Florencia's medications tested. Bertha pretended to laugh at this, but after hanging up she was worried. She doesn't want Fernanda to talk to the cardiologists Florencia consulted in Europe because then Fernanda will know what Bertha has done. She called Germany to find out where those doctors are, then told the maid she's going on a trip.

Renata asked Lisana why she's dating a poor person. Lisania said, "I like Raul because he has a pure soul and a nice family." She said Raul and his brothers were raised by their aunt, whom they call Mama Amparito. Renata mocked this, saying she would never call her aunt Bertha "Mama Bertita."

Florencia confronted Miranda, accusing her and Fabricio of waiting for Florencia's death so they can reunite. Later Florencia challenged Fabricio, "What are you going to do when I die?"
