I'm trying to learn Spanish by watching telenovelas. Please share your comments about the shows, too. I know I'm not the only English-speaking person who's hooked on telenovelas!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 48

Cesar said to Miranda (in front of Alejandro), "Come with me. With me you will be safe. I thought after last night..."

Miranda said, "Nothing happened between us," then told Alejandro she spent the night at Cesar's apartment but not in his bed, and apologized for letting Alejandro think otherwise when he called.

Alejandro laughed and Cesar said, "What are you laughing at, imbecile?" Alejandro replied, "At you, Cesar."

Miranda broke up their fight and told Cesar she feels affection for him. Cesar didn't like that. He said he needs to speak to her alone, and she promised to look for him later. Before leaving, Cesar told Alejandro, "You and I aren't finished," and Alejandro retorted, "Just say where and when, Cesar, and I'll be there."

After Cesar left, Alejandro told Miranda, "Cesar is only a show-off."

Gabino (the hacienda employee) told Fabricio that many of the men making trouble at the hacienda don't actually work there. He added, "My grandparents were born here, and my parents. If necessary, I will defend it with my blood." Later he thought, "Senora Bertha is responsible for all of this, and what's worse, I am her accomplice."

Rebeca visited Gonzalo. He said he doesn't want to see her anymore because she chose to protect Cesar over him, but Rebeca begged for forgiveness, saying Gonzalo is like a brother to her. She told him Alejandro is Fernanda's protector.

Gonzalo said angrily that Alejandro has been making a fool of him, that he'll fight to recover everything and then everyone who made a fool of him will pay. Rebeca said, "Whatever happens, I will be with you. Don't forget that." Then she told him Julio is living with her, and that Cesar asked Julio to go into business with him and Julio accepted. None of this pleased Gonzalo.

Alejandro explained to Miranda that he met Fernanda by chance and later learned she was Miranda's mother. She asked why he didn't tell her, and Alejandro said, "You wouldn't have listened." Miranda wept and asked, "Who caused all this, Alejandro?"

Erika overheard Veronica scheming on the telephone with Bertha. Veronica grabbed Erika and threatened her, warning her not to tell Renata.

Alejandro took Miranda to see Fernanda. Miranda called Fernanda "Mama" and they both burst into tears. Fernanda said she waited years and years to hear that. Miranda said she loves Gonzalo and doesn't want to lose him, and Fernanda said she understands.

Fernanda said she doesn't want her house back because it belongs to her daughters and Gonzalo. Miranda asked if Fernanda still loves Gonzalo, and I think Fernanda said yes. Miranda said he never touches other women, and Fernanda said, "Only Bertha." Miranda said she doesn't think Gonzalo really feels anything for Bertha. She asked if Bertha is responsible for everything that has happened, and Fernanda said yes.

Cesar showed up at the San Llorente hacienda, pretending to be concerned about Fabricio's safety. He tossed his keys at Juan to park his car, but Juan said, "I don't know how to drive. Park it yourself." Cesar tried to attack Juan but Fabricio restrained him.

Julio told Rebeca he's at liberty to sell his shares in San Llorente Investments, that his sons will see that he isn't an old man when they see his new business. Rebeca thanked him for trusting Cesar.

Luis Alberto (Cesar's sidekick) said on the telephone, "San Lorente Investments' days are numbered." Luciano overheard and asked why Luis Alberto said that.

Gonzalo showed up at Fernanda's door and said, "I know Alejandro Luque is the man protecting you."
