I'm trying to learn Spanish by watching telenovelas. Please share your comments about the shows, too. I know I'm not the only English-speaking person who's hooked on telenovelas!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 54

Fernanda told Amparo, "Renata has tantrums and is whimsical," so her marriage with Juan might not work out. Fernanda also said this is her chance to win Renata back.

Sanson overheard this, smirked, and said something to himself about having found a gold mine.

Bertha told Luis Alberto to do some research for her because she might sell her shares in San Lorente Investments.

Leonardo tried to take Andrea to her real husband's grave, but she panicked and begged to leave.

A man told Bertha that two men (Alejandro and Luciano) are investigating the false story she told about Santiago (the priest) years ago. Bertha asked the man if he wants money to stay silent. He said no, he has a good job in a bank, a wife and children, and he doesn't want to lose everything.

Julio signed papers dissolving his partnership with Gonzalo. He told Gonzalo he's turned into a tyrant. Gonzalo said, "I am what I am."

Cesar learned that Pamela is dating Luciano. He told Miranda he doesn't trust Luciano. He and Miranda told Pamela that Cesar is going to investigate Luciano. Pamela was unhappy about that.

Miranda told Cesar she'll try to convince Alejandro to drop his grudge against Cesar. Pamela commented to Miranda that Cesar has changed and is trustworthy now. Cesar told Miranda that Nuria is pregnant with another man's baby and he's nobly helping Nuria prepare for the birth.

Luis Alberto told Nuria that he loves her. He eavesdropped while Cesar shouted at Nuria, warning her not to reveal to Miranda that he's the father of her baby.

The gang members who attacked Alejandro were arrested and he got his car back. Sanson, however, escaped arrest. Raul learned that he has to do community service and pay a fine for his crimes with Sanson's gang.

Leonardo took Andrea out to dinner and showed her a code that he apparently got from her real husband. She seemed to be able to interpret it but warned him that it's dangerous. She appears to be confused and I think Leonardo is taking advantage of her fragile mental state.

I have a really hard time understanding what Sanson is saying, maybe because he uses a lot of slang.

As usual, a great job on your recaps! I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who stays up until ridiculous hours trying to understand what in the heck is going on in Telenovela land.

Sylvia, thank you!! It really is fun trying to figure it out. I'm amazed at how much Spanish I've picked up just from watching telenovelas.

The slang is a problem for me too and some things aren't in my dictionary. I figured out on my own that "lana" means cash, and I've got the general idea that "naco" means "low class." But a lot of it is still a mystery to me.
