Heridas de Amor - Episode 96

Trapped at the harvest house by the storm, Arcadia and the feverish Pamela listened to a news report. Arcadia told Pamela if the storm gets any worse, no one will be able to rescue them. Pamela later became delirious and Arcadia put her in a tub of cold water to cool her off.

Miranda and Gavino left the car and swam to the hacienda.

Nuria told Bertha they shouldn't leave Florencia alone, saying they could help deliver the baby together, but Bertha yelled, "I don't have the strength or experience to deliver a baby. Seeing blood is beyond me. Besides, if anything happens to Florencia, they are going to think I killed her!" So Nuria went alone to Florencia's room, where she went into labor, too.

Juan encountered Renata at the hospital. She said she intended to start divorce proceedings. Juan said he didn't intend to be separated from her, then kissed her. Renata admitted she still loved him but said she couldn't return to his house. Juan said he could now afford to rent their own apartment (in his current neighborhood), and that he now has his own free clinic for poor people. He gives them medicine, clothes, and food. Renata (the most annoying and shallow character in the history of television) started thinking again that Juan will always be poor and if she stays with him she'll turn into a tired, ugly old woman, boo hoo hoo.

Santiago told Fernanda that Alejandro's lawyer is very prepared and has found contradictions in Cesar and Bertha's statements.

After Fernanda examined Julio, Rebeca told Fernanda nastily to stop worrying about Florencia and Miranda because they've lived through a lot of storms. Julio told Fernanda that Rebeca is Bertha's friend, and Fernanda said, "Now I understand everything." Julio left, saying he can't listen to any more of Rebeca's comments because they'll give him a heart attack. Rebeca told Fernanda, "Every time Julio sees you, it's the same, problems between me and him. Julio is mine, only mine! If you want a man, look somewhere else!"

Alejandro borrowed a cell phone from a prison guard and phoned Luciano, asking him to take a helicopter to the hacienda to rescue Miranda, Florencia, and Pamela. (Alejandro must not have much experience with tropical storms if he thinks a helicopter can safely fly through one.)

Bertha suddenly realized Florencia's child will be Alfredo's first grandchild and therefore will inherit all Alfredo's money. She said to herself, "This baby is my salvation!" Nuria asked Bertha to help deliver her baby and Florencia's. Bertha ordered Nuria to fetch a bucket of water and carry it upstairs.

Miranda reached the hacienda, found Florencia alone, and delivered her baby -- a boy. Cesar secretly watched from the doorway of Florencia's room.

Fabricio called Renata and said he was in New York City and couldn't return to Mexico because all flights had been cancelled. Renata asked why he had been defending and excusing Bertha ever since his kidnapping. Fab. only said, "Bertha is incapable of doing harm to Florencia or the baby!" After hanging up, Renata said to herself, "How strange Fabricio is."

Bertha met Cesar in the hallway and told him Nuria had given birth to a beautiful boy. Cesar said, "The only baby that matters is the one I'll have with Miranda!" I think Bertha told him to get some chloroform from her room and use it on Miranda (apparently so he can impregnate Miranda). Cesar said he didn't like this plan, but agreed. He told her about the birth of Florencia's baby, and Bertha went to Florencia's room.

Miranda told Bertha to stay with Florencia, then went to see Nuria and her baby. Nuria and Miranda saw a shadow outside Nuria's room. Miranda took a gun and went outside to investigate.

Through the window, the viewer sees a man (must be Cesar) jump on Miranda. She fights him off and fires the gun, and he runs away.

Bertha arrived and Miranda said, "It was the Guapo. The man who killed my father is here." Bertha insisted that Miranda was imagining things. Miranda ordered Bertha to stay with Nuria and lock the door, saying she would return to Florencia's room. At the end of the show, the viewer sees blood on the ground - Miranda must have shot Cesar!
