I'm trying to learn Spanish by watching telenovelas. Please share your comments about the shows, too. I know I'm not the only English-speaking person who's hooked on telenovelas!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 122

Rebeca ordered Bertha to get out of her house. Bertha said, "I'm going to shout to the world how your sons came into the world" (ie they were fathered by Julio, not by Rebeca's husband).

Rebeca asked Cesar, "Are you hearing this?" and Cesar said, "What do you want me to do? You started this." Cesar said he'd never needed anyone and didn't need Rebeca and Julio, then left with Bertha.

Julio began having chest pains but assured Rebeca, "Cesar is not going to kill me, and much less Bertha."

Alejandro told Miranda in front of Liliana that it wouldn't be prudent or convenient to get a new lawyer now when he and Liliana were on the verge of putting Cesar and Bertha in jail. Miranda demanded to speak to Alejandro alone.

After Miranda left the room, Liliana complained about her attitude. Alejandro said sternly that Miranda "works the earth with her own hands and hundreds of families depend on her." Liliana sarcastically called Miranda a queen. Alejandro replied, "That's what Miranda is, a queen, and be careful how you talk about her."

Al. joined Miranda in the library, where she told him angrily they should be making decisions together. She got a call from someone (probably Fabricio) and made a big show of talking to him affectionately, then told Alejandro it was "someone very special." Alejandro said, "Don't play with me."

Francisco told Amparo that Raul was old enough to know what he was doing, but Amparo begged Raul not to go to Spain. Francisco said something about Amparo marrying Roman, and Amparo asked, "If I get married, what's going to happen to you?" Francisco joked that he would have "old ladies and alcohol" in the house when she was gone.

Fernanda encouraged Liliana to leave the San Llorente house, so Liliana did. Alejandro was angry at Fernanda, saying, "Liliana came with me and no one had the right to throw her out." He asked Fernanda to try to be impartial and to remember that Miranda is his wife.

Pamela advised Alejandro to fire Liliana now that his case was finished. Alejandro said, "You're right. I'm going to solve this right now."

Santiago visited Amparo and encouraged her to let Raul go to Spain, saying it wasn't a tragedy for his family but an honor because it showed that his parents raised him well and prepared him for this great opportunity.

Renata had another tiresome argument with herself, telling her reflection in the mirror that her baby isn't Cesar's, "it's my child and Juan's." Juan told her that he would love her and the child forever.

Miranda told Pamela she intended to go to Sofia's mini Olympics to see for herself that Alejandro isn't a friend of Sofia's family or an uncle, but like a father to her.

Alejandro visited Liliana and said, "This is the last time we're going to see each other." Sofia insisted that she wanted Al. to take her to her school olympics, then called Alejandro "bad" and ran out of the room.

Liliana told Al. she had to rebuild her life now and asked him to never set foot in her house again.

Carola told Francisco and Amparo that she had decided go to Spain with Raul.

Fernanda told Julio he might need a pacemaker. Julio said he intended to remove his money from Cesar's business. When Fabricio heard that Cesar and Bertha had caused Julio's chest pains, he said he would denounce them for kidnapping him. Rebeca was shocked to hear that Cesar was involved in the kidnapping.

Words/phrases from this episode:
