Heridas de Amor - Episode 14
Fabricio asked Cesar why he was at the wedding, because he wasn't invited. Their mother protested, "He's your brother!"
While Miranda was unconscious, Alejandro said to her, "Wake up, Miranda. Life is open for you. This is only a trial." She dreamed he was telling her, "Very soon we are going to love."
Bertha came into the room and saw Alejandro kissing Miranda. After Miranda woke up, Bertha told her, "How quickly you found someone to console you."
Miranda said something about Renata, and Bertha sneered, "None of you is a woman for Alejandro." Miranda scoffed, "And you are?" Bertha said, "Yes," and insisted that Alejandro is interested in her. Miranda said Alejandro would never pay attention to Bertha, and Bertha insisted, "He pays attention to me, and so does Gonzalo!"
Pamela told Fernanda that Miranda is OK, it was only a fainting spell. Fernanda said to herself, "I feel so alone, so fragile. Gonzalo's hatred is terrible. But I came to recover all that is mine. Including my daughters."
Florencia told Fernanda that she doesn't want to start Fernanda's new medical treatment after the honeymoon, that she'll go back to her former doctor instead. (I think Bertha told Florencia not to trust Fernanda.)
Miranda told the family she is fine now and that since it's a wedding they should dance. Bertha said to Alejandro, "It's been years since I danced," but Miranda interrupted by asking Alejandro to dance with her. While dancing, Miranda told Alejandro that she wants to die (because of Fabricio's marriage to Florencia).
Meanwhile, Fernanda told Bertha, "Be careful. Alejandro is not Alfredo" (Alfredo was Alejandro's father). Bertha retorted, "He's much better."
Alejandro's stepmother, Daira, said something about Alfredo, and Fernanda introduced Daira to Bertha as Alejandro's wife. Bertha was shocked and said that's impossible because Alfredo is dead. Bertha to herself, "I know what I saw! Only I know what happened. He is dead. I am sure."
She remembered looking at Alfredo's body after Gonzalo shot him and saying, "You killed him, Gonzalo."
Cesar complained to Gonzalo about being fired by Julio, and Gonzalo told him, "On Monday, come to the office." Cesar later cornered Bertha and asked her what she knows about him (ie his financial espionage), but she teased him and refused to answer.
Gonzalo asked Renata about her drug use, and Renata blamed Miranda for telling their father. Gonzalo said the doctor (Fernanda) told him. Renata said, "What a joke! I hate her!" Later she went to Bertha about it and Bertha, I think, spun her a story about what a bad person Fernanda is but said she will take care of everything.
Daira told Fernanda that Alfredo never forgot about her, "There was never a day he didn't think of you," then said, "I want to be your friend. We will get your daughters back."
Fernanda thanked her, then said, "I'm going to tell you something that no one knows," and revealed that Florencia is actually Alfredo's daughter. Alejandro overheard this and said, "Florencia is my sister?"
Fernanda explained that she was in love with Alfredo, but her father and Bertha forced her to marry Gonzalo. When she realized that she was pregnant with Florencia by Alfredo, she didn't dare tell Gonzalo. Little by little she fell in love with Gonzalo but never told him their oldest child wasn't really his because she didn't dare.
Bertha talked angrily to Tomasa (the maid) and said something about Tomasa's granddaughter and Nati (the old woman in the nursing home), but I don't know what that was all about.
Bertha followed this up by being nasty to Pamela, saying something about Pamela's mother and "insanity is hereditary." Pamela told Miranda, "My mother is not crazy," then broke down in tears.
Bertha made a speech congratulating the bride and groom, then maliciously gave the microphone to Miranda, who was forced to also make a speech. She said, "Fabricio and I were engaged from childhood, but realized it was all an illusion of infancy. Fortunately, Fabricio found my sister, and he is the man of her dreams. With all my heart I wish them happiness."
Afterward, Gonzalo told Miranda, "Bertha will pay dearly." Miranda replied, "With her smile and sweet voice, no one could believe she is a demon personified."
Alejandro told Bertha that he knows his father designed her necklace. She said, "His designs are worth thousands, aren't they?" and Alejandro said about her necklace, "It's a shame this is such bad work. It's a bad copy," which Bertha didn't like.
Amparo and Francisco pawned jewelry because the family has no money. Amparo went to church and told a priest that all her life she's been worrying about money. I think he told her she can sell tacos in the church(??) Her nephew, Juan, overheard this and was upset that Amparo is worried, thinking, "It's not fair. She's been a great mother to us."
Gonzalo demanded to know why Rebeca is letting Fernanda stay at her house, calling Rebeca a traitor. Rebeca apologized and mentioned that Fernanda is Cesar's godmother and she's sure Cesar recognizes her.
Florencia begged Gonzalo, "Marry my Aunt Bertha!"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 13
Fernanda told Fabricio that because Florencia is pregnant she has only weeks to live, rather than months. Fabricio said, "The baby can't be born" because Florencia is his entire life, and that he will tell her about it on their honeymoon.
After Fabricio left the room, Fernanda told Rebeca, "The loss of the baby guarantees nothing" (ie Florencia won't necessarily live).
Gonzalo called Fernanda's hospital supervisor, Benjamin, and asked him to fire Fernanda as a favor to him. Apparently for years Gonzalo has been using his influence to get Fernanda fired from jobs in order to make her life miserable. However, Benjamin refused to fire her for two reasons: First, because she is a good doctor, and second, because she has the protection of an important man (I think this is a reference to Alejandro).
After hanging up, Gonzalo said to himself, "Fernanda, you and this man who protects you will be sorry. I suppose he's your new lover. I will finish you both off."
Bertha called Cesar and (I think?) said she left something important in his apartment. Cesar said he can't help her because he's on his way to New York. Bertha then threatened to "denounce you to Interpol for financial espionage" and I think(?) she said she wants his house in Tabasco (Tabasco is the state where Gonzalo and Cesar have their country homes).
Furious, Cesar hung up, then went looking for something and found what appeared to be Alfredo's portfolio of jewelry designs. He tossed them aside, saying this can't be what Bertha is looking for.
The hospitalized old woman, Natividad, told a male attendant something about a tree (possibly a weeping willow), a pistol, and a trunk. She said, "I ran, I ran, I ran." The man didn't seem to take her seriously. I didn't understand this conversation but it probably has something to do with the night Gonzalo shot Alfredo.
Lisania (Alejandro's sister) complained about the heat in Mexico and her mother said she'll get used to it. The mother said she grew up in poverty and she'll never forget it. (I think the mother is Alejandro's stepmother but I'm still not sure.)
When Fernanda was introduced to Gonzalo before Florencia's wedding, she said, "At last I am in front of Gonzalo San Lorente." Gonzalo said, "Can we talk alone a moment, doctor."
In the library, Gonzalo ordered her to leave the house, then threatened to tell their daughters who she is. Fernanda said, "Tell them who I am, and I'll tell them who you are: a murderer!" Gonzalo said, "I know you have a new lover, but I swear I am going to destroy you both."
Everyone commented on Bertha's new look and called her beautiful. Bertha said, "I have many surprises; this is why I returned." Then she went into the library to see Gonzalo and Fernanda.
Fernanda said something like, "You have a lot of explaining to do, Bertha. Why have you never told Gonzalo that Renata takes drugs?" After Fernanda left the room, Gonzalo told Bertha, "You have many things to explain."
When Bertha was alone, she said to herself, "You are not going to ruin my plans, Fernanda. You are going to wish you had not returned, stupid!"
Right before the wedding, Miranda berated Fabricio for marrying Florencia, saying, "I want my sister to be happy, but not you," and complained that Fab. has never said, "I'm sorry, Miranda. Please forgive me." Fabricio (still upset by the news that Florencia is on the verge of death) told her, "I am paying. You don't know the price I pay."
As the wedding started, Miranda said to herself, "Forgive me, God. I want him to be happy because I love him always."
When Miranda wanted to leave the ceremony, Alejandro told her, "You can't avoid this moment. Confront it as what you are: a lady." Later he said something to her about an oak, and she said, "I am not an oak. I am a woman."
After the ceremony, Florencia asked Bertha to live with her and Fabricio after the honeymoon. Bertha agreed. Alejandro noticed Bertha's necklace, and she told him, "Someone very special gave it to me." Alejandro whispered to Lisania, "Bertha has my father's designs!"
Gonzalo told Fernanda, "For your good, it is better that you disappear from my life." Fernanda retorted, "The persecution is over," then told him he should be more concerned about Florencia because she's pregnant.
Fabricio hugged Miranda and whispered in her ear, "Forgive me, Miranda," and Miranda promptly fainted.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 12
All the stock exchanges in the world dropped 3.5%, setting off a financial panic. This is good for Cesar, who apparently made money from it, but bad for Julio and Gonzalo's business.
Fernanda told Alejandro that Florencia is pregnant, saying, "Not only will it cause her health to deteriorate, her medicine is bad for the baby." She decided to go to the wedding, apparently to bring new medicine to Florencia.
At the office, Nuria told Cesar that she is pregnant. He said insultingly, "Congratulations. Who is the father?" Nuria said, "You know you are the only man it could be!" Cesar grabbed Nuria and shouted at her. Julio came in, saw this, and fired Cesar.
Florencia apologized to Miranda for taking Fabricio from her. Miranda told Florencia to think only of herself and promise to be happy. Florencia said, "Thank you for being my sister."
Cesar told his co-worker Luis Alberto, who is somehow involved in Cesar's financial misdoings, that Julio fired him. Luis Alberto said he can't stay at the company without Cesar, that he will quit, but Cesar said, "No one will suspect you. I need you here in the business."
Gonzalo told Julio he shouldn't have fired Cesar, saying, "This is MY business." Julio said all his sons' money is tied up in the business, and that Gonzalo should stop thinking about Florencia's wedding and start worrying about the fact that the company is ruined.
On the way to the wedding, Rebeca told Fernanda, "I don't know what Gonzalo will do when he sees you." She asked where Fernanda has been all these years, and Fernanda said, "You think I was with a man. The man is dead. You know why? Gonzalo killed him." Rebeca said tsk tsk to this. (She didn't seem very shocked.)
Nuria asked Cesar where he will go now that he has been fired, and Cesar said nastily, "What does it matter to you? It is your fault, only your fault, that I lost my job!" Then he suddenly apologized, kissed her, and claimed that he will marry her in a few days.
Gonzalo told some men in his office not to worry about the company's investment losses, that they will recover the money soon.
Alejandro's father, Alfredo Luque, was a famous jeweler. Bertha has been hoarding a portfolio of his designs. She had one of them made into a necklace. The jeweler said it's worth $50,000. Bertha said to herself, "If you want your father's designs, Alejandro, the price is love for me."
Florencia told Miranda that she's upset because Bertha isn't coming to the wedding. She said Bertha's been like a mother to them. Miranda disagreed and called Bertha an ugly spinster.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 11
Miranda asked who Renata was taking drugs with, and Renata insisted that she was alone. She begged Miranda not to tell their father, and I think Miranda said she would give Renata a chance to clean up her act.
Renata lost her temper and yelled at Miranda, "I can't count on you for anything. I wish Aunt Bertha were here. I wish you were dying and not Florencia!"
The man Amparo lives with is named Francisco. I'm unclear on his relationship to Amparo. I think he said she was his sister but I'm not sure. His sons call her "Mama Amparito."
Alejandro visited Francisco's house and said that Fernanda is giving Juan (one of the sons) a job at the clinic. Later Fernanda mentioned that Juan is a good doctor.
A man at the factory told Francisco to face the facts, that the factory is never going to reopen. Francisco was upset because he has put his entire life into the factory. He said a man his age will never be able to find work.
The injured young blonde woman who came to Amparo is named Carola. I think she said a man hit her. Amparo mentioned that Carola is in love with Juan, and Carola said, "Juan sees me as a friend, as a sister, not as a woman."
Fernanda got test results indicating that Florencia is pregnant (which is very dangerous for Florencia). She admitted to the hospital director, Benjamin, that Florencia is her daughter. Later she told Amparo that she is going to fight for Florencia.
On the morning before the wedding, Miranda told Tomasa that she wants to die and she can't face going to the wedding. She remembered kissing Alejandro, then thought, "Alejandro Luque doesn't have a heart."
Alejandro remembered Fabricio asking him not to leave Miranda alone on the wedding day. He thought to himself, "The San Llorente family is vulnerable at this moment. This is the best moment to attack."
Fabricio said to Rebeca, "Julio is a nice man. Why don't you marry him?" and Rebeca said, "Cesar doesn't like him." Fabricio replied, "If you love Julio and he loves you, don't wait." Rebeca said, "You are a good son."
Renata told Miranda that Bertha called and said she won't go to the wedding if Miranda is going to be there. Miranda said, "Then tell her we'll send photos, because I'm not going to miss this wedding." She told Renata, "Bertha doesn't love the three of us," and Renata said, "She doesn't love you. It's very different."
Tomasa heard a radio report about problems in the stock market and asked Gonzalo about it. He said to tell the chauffeur not to play the radio in the car because he doesn't want anything to ruin Florencia's wedding day. Cesar apparently made money from the stock market drop because he was gloating at his computer.
Julio told Rebeca that he has been financially ruined. I gather Gonzalo is also going to be in financial trouble now.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 10
Cesar told Miranda, "I have always loved you." She said, "There can be nothing between us," and warned him that he will be fired if he touches her again.
Alejandro told Gonzalo that his father (Alfredo) lived for years with pain from the bullets in his back, and he is going to get revenge on the man who shot him. Gonzalo said, "Revenge is a pleasure," and "You are right to hate the aggressor." (Gonzalo doesn't know the name of the man he shot, so he doesn't know it was Alejandro's father.)
Miranda overheard part of their conversation and was upset. Alejandro told her not to take what he said seriously, "It was metaphorical only," and Miranda retorted, "Do you think I'm stupid?" After Alejandro left, she told Gonzalo, "Don't trust this man. I don't like hearing you talk of revenge."
Cesar visited Bertha at the hospital and said, "I proposed to Miranda, and she told me to go to the devil." Bertha replied, "I told you that you have to win her little by little. Your first error was kissing her by force. Your second error was asking her to marry you. I thought you were smarter than that."
Bertha also said, "When I return home, things will be different, and then Miranda will be yours."
Alejandro's sister, Lisania, and stepmother, Daira, arrived. He said he will leave his hotel and go live with them.
When Miranda and Pamela saw Alejandro with the two women, Pamela said, "He told me he wasn't married." Miranda marched up to Alejandro and asked, "Aren't you going to introduce us?" Lisania said, "I am his daughter, and this is my mother."
After Miranda left, Daira said, "That was a terrible thing to do. Why did you let her do that, Alejandro." Alejandro laughed and asked his daughter if Miranda should be his girlfriend. Lisania said, "Maybe, but she has to suffer a little."
Later Lisania pulled her mother aside and said, "Eyes don't lie. Alejandro and Miranda are in love."
Fernanda met Tomasa, who told her that Bertha has taught Fernanda's daughters to hate her.
Renata, taking drugs with her friends, said, "I think Bertha is my mother. I am the daughter of sin. I am the daughter of no one!" then collapsed. One of her friends said something like, "She's our friend, we can't leave her like this," and the other (apparently a drug dealer) said, "I don't have friends. She is a good client. She is at home, not in the street," and they both left.
Florencia took Renata to the clinic. Fernanda said Renata appeared to be on drugs, and Miranda said, "Renata never takes drugs."
Florencia looked guilty, and Miranda got her to admit that Renata overdosed once before but Bertha told her not to tell anyone. Miranda told Fernanda, "My sister is an addict." Fernanda said not to worry, Renata's overdose is nothing serious, only marijuana.
Florencia asked Fernanda to talk to their father (about Renata, I think). Fernanda of course doesn't want to do this because she's hiding from Gonzalo, but she agreed. Miranda said, "I'd prefer it was in front of us." Fernanda said, "You can count on me."Fernanda told Florencia, "After your honeymoon, we will start a series of tests on your heart." Florencia invited Fernanda to her wedding.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 9
Cesar argued with Fabricio, telling him, "It's thanks to you that Gonzalo treats me worse than a servant!"
Their mother, Rebeca, was upset by their argument. Fabricio told her that he wants her to come live with him and Florencia after they return from their honeymoon. Cesar objected to this, and Fabricio said, "It is my mother's house!" Cesar sneered, "No, boy. Legally the country house (quinta) and this house are mine."
Rebeca asked Fab. to stop arguing with Cesar, saying, "He is your brother!" but Fabricio said, "He is not my brother. He is a disgrace!" He assured his mother, "While I am here, you are not going to lack for anything, I promise."
Tomasa told Miranda that before Fernanda married Gonzalo, she loved another man. Bertha found out about it and told Miranda's grandfather, who told Gonzalo, but Gonzalo still loved Fernanda. Miranda said angrily that her mother abandoned her family for this other man, and Tomasa said, "Don't speak with such hatred."
Gonzalo told all three of his daughters, "I was never the father I should be. I was the father I could be. Forgive me for not giving you the attention you needed."
Renata asked, "Why are you telling us this?" and Gonzalo replied, "Because there's something you should know. Your mother did not disappear." Renata said, "We already know. Aunt Bertha told us that she abandoned us for another man." Florencia said, "For years we suffered due to her betrayal."
I had trouble understanding this part but I think(?) Gonzalo told them Fernanda did not leave for another man, and Renata said, "Then why has she never returned?" I didn't understand Gonzalo's reply.
Meanwhile Fernanda's friend Amparo was telling Fernanda not to blame herself for leaving her daughters, that she only did it so Gonzalo wouldn't kill her.
Fernanda remembered telling Alejandro's father, Alfredo, that she did not love him because she was in love with Gonzalo, who was "a great man and a spectacular father." Alfredo insisted, "Together we will revive our love," and kissed her against her will. Then Gonzalo came in, saw them, and assumed wrongly that Alfredo was Fernanda's lover, refusing to listen to Fernanda's explanations.
Amparo commented that someone must have told Gonzalo that Fernanda was meeting Alfredo that night. (That would be Bertha, no doubt.)
Fernanda went to Amparo's house for dinner. Some man and three sons were there. Fernanda is the godmother of one or more of the sons. I had trouble understanding what was going on, but I gather that the man doesn't make much money because he wants a quiet life.
One of the sons, Juan, seemed to be urging the others to leave town to find work elsewhere. The father was upset and said, "It's my fault!" The sons said no, that he's the best father in the barrio. Juan said he simply wants a better life. Fernanda apparently talked him out of leaving.
Later their father told Amparo, "I will not permit my sons to go to another place," and said something about "selling the factory" (or something like that???) Whatever his plan was, Amparo agreed.
After seeing Fabricio and Florencia become engaged, Miranda ran away in tears. Alejandro followed and told her, "You are a strong woman."
Miranda replied, "I am not strong. I am only a ghost. You are a man. You can't understand the heart of a woman." Then she said something about "wounds of love." Alejandro said, "Then wound me. I want to know what you're talking about," and kissed her.
At that moment, Pamela was telling Renata that she's in love with Alejandro. Renata gleefully pointed out that Alejandro was kissing Miranda.
As they were leaving the party, Miranda told Florencia, "I want with all my heart that you are happy." Fabricio asked, "And me?" and Miranda said, "Also you. I wish you all the happiness in the world."
The next day, Julio told Gonzalo he was worried about the London stock exchange. Gonzalo seemed to shrug that off. Later, at the office, Alejandro encouraged Gonzalo to move his investments somewhere. Julio said it was dangerous, but Gonzalo dismissed his objections.
Cesar told Fab., "I am going to live in the country house with Miranda when we are married." Fabricio said, "You're dreaming!" Before he left, he warned Cesar, "I'm not as good or as stupid as you think."
Florencia said she can't eat because she has no appetite and is always nauseous. Miranda said she will take Florencia right away to a doctor "that Alejandro recommends." (Probably Fernanda.)
Heridas de Amor - Episode 8
Fabricio told Alejandro that he truly loves Florencia and is not marrying her out of pity.
He is apparently divorced from their mother. Gonzalo said to himself that Julio (the older man who works with him) has betrayed him twice, once by trying to help Fernanda, and he won't let Julio betray him again.
With Alejandro's help, Fernanda got a job at one of the most important hospitals in the country. She commented that Nati, the sick old woman she's been worried about, is recovering now.
Fernanda called Tomasa (the servant), who asked where Fernanda has been all these years. Fernanda said she's been hiding from Gonzalo. She arranged to meet Tomasa.
Alejandro overheard Gonzalo receiving a phone call about delays in the building of their hotel. Alejandro smirked to himself about this.
Miranda arrived and Alejandro said he's surprised to hear that she's an economist, that he sees her as more of a social worker. Miranda didn't seem to like him saying that because she doesn't want Gonzalo to find out about her social work. As Alejandro left, he said, "It's always a pleasure to see you, Miranda," and she replied, "It's a pity I can't say the same about you."
Gonzalo told Miranda that he wants to build grand hotels in Europe with Alejandro to secure his daughters' future. Miranda said she has work of her own, and Gonzalo insisted he wants to her come work for him, that she is to be his successor.
Cesar told Miranda that Alejandro is a nobody and she shouldn't take gifts from him. Alejandro arrived and got into a dispute with Cesar, then said he might cancel his business with the company because of the way Cesar treats him. Miranda told Alejandro to be more polite, saying, "There is a magic word that opens all doors: please."
Miranda told Gonzalo, "Alejandro is used to giving orders, and Cesar isn't used to taking them." Gonzalo said, "Cesar is just an employee, and Alejandro is my associate." Miranda asked if he's sure the money Alejandro has invested in the business is clean, and Gonzalo showed her figures that proved Alejandro is very rich. Miranda was surprised.
The man at the art gallery told Pamela, "It's your fault that I lost my job. You're not my equal. I'm a man, and you're just an old woman." Then he tore up all her photos. Gonzalo hired a lawyer to help Pamela prosecute the man.
Fernanda asked Alejandro, "Haven't you ever been in love?" and Alejandro said no, love only causes suffering. "My father loved you all his life, and all his life he suffered."
Gonzalo learned that Julio violated company policies in some way. Gonzalo said, "We need to find out who bought those deeds." Cesar seems to be involved in whatever Julio is accused of doing.
Nuria demanded to know why Cesar kissed Renata, and he said he isn't interested in Renata, that she's just a girl who doesn't know what she wants.
Julio had a conversation with Miranda. After Miranda left, Julio said to himself, "You don't know what kind of father you have, you poor little girl."
That night at the party to celebrate Florencia's engagement to Fabricio, Tomasa told Miranda to be strong, then said, "Just like you, Fernanda was Bertha's victim."
Heridas de Amor - Episode 7
Renata convinced Gonzalo to allow Bertha to return home for Florencia's sake. Fabricio assured Gonzalo that he won't let Florencia get pregnant.
Miranda told Fabricio that he is only marrying Florencia out of pity. He denied it, saying, "How can you be so miserable to your own sister?"
Gonzalo called someone and told him to find Fernanda, "even if you have to look for her in hell."
Bertha told Cesar that she's in love with Alejandro.
Fabricio asked Gonzalo to forgive him, and Gonzalo said no, "I never forgive a betrayal." Then he told Fabricio that 18 years ago he killed Fernanda's boyfriend. Fabricio later told Rebeca (his mother) this, and she was shocked.
Florencia admired Miranda's wedding dress and asked if she can have it for her wedding to Fabricio. Reluctantly Miranda agreed, but told Florencia that her life and soul are in that dress.
Renata told Cesar that things are bad at home and she wants to live with him. Cesar said no, that Gonzalo already has too much stress and Renata shouldn't add to it.
Pamela prepared her photographs for an exhibition at a gallery. A gallery employee gave her a hard time about something(?) and she said, "Photography is not only for men!" and demanded to see his boss.
Gonzalo's business associate Julio returned from a trip and Gonzalo lectured him, saying Julio has committed too many errors.
Florencia told Tomasa (the servant) that none of her friends can come to her wedding because it's too soon and they already have plans. Tomasa told her, "If your friends won't come to your wedding, it is because they know it is wrong for you to marry your sister's boyfriend." Florencia said Miranda doesn't really love Fabricio, and Tomasa said this isn't true, that Miranda and Fab. are killing Miranda.
Florencia begged Tomasa not to hate her and Tomasa said she doesn't. Florencia mentioned that Bertha has been like a mother to her, and Tomasa angrily said that mothers are self-sacrificing and never complain, and Bertha has never been that way. Florencia asked Tomasa why she hates Bertha so much.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 6
Alejandro told Fernanda he has found a new clinic for her patients, but said she shouldn't personally waste her time working at the clinic because she is one of the best cardiologists in the country.
Gonzalo complained because he can't reach a business associate named Julio by phone. Cesar then told Gonzalo that he has always loved Miranda. Gonzalo replied coldly, "No, Cesar. Miranda is not a woman for you."
After Gonzalo left, Cesar called someone (Julio?) and said he wants 25% of the profits in exchange for more information (about Gonzalo's finances?) Then he said to himself, "Yes, Miranda is the woman for me, Gonzalo, as I will demonstrate."
Miranda took Florencia to the clinic for tests, determined to prove that Bertha is wrong and Florencia is not dying. A doctor showed Florencia's x-rays to Fernanda and Fernanda said that the patient doesn't have long to live. When she learned it was Florencia (her daughter) Fernanda was stunned and said it was hard to believe because it looks like the x-ray of a much older woman.
For the rest of the show Fernanda grieved about Florencia's illness. She told Alejandro (I think) that even taking an aspirin could be harmful to Florencia and that is why she's dying. (Maybe it's aspirin that Bertha has been secretly giving to Florencia?)
Gonzalo confronted Bertha and told her, "It is your fault Fabricio betrayed Miranda with her own sister." Bertha denied this, saying Florencia has loved Fabricio since they were children. She said that Miranda has always gotten all of Gonzalo's attention and that he doesn't know anything about his other daughters. Then she told Gonzalo, "Don't talk about betrayal. I know you killed a man." Gonzalo warned her to think carefully before she tells anyone about the murder.
Miranda came home and told Gonzalo that the doctors say any excitement could be fatal to Florencia, and that Florencia should definitely not get pregnant.
Florencia apologized to her father for stealing Fabricio from Miranda. Gonzalo said he will help arrange Florencia's wedding. Florencia said, "Do you know what I want more than anything? A child." Gonzalo told her it is too soon for that and that she should enjoy her marriage first, but Florencia insisted that she wants to have a son and name it Gonzalo. He said if she has a daughter she should name it Florencia.
Bertha came to Cesar's apartment and he told her she can stay with him.
Cesar told Miranda that Fabricio only pretended to love her and never intended to go through with the wedding. (This isn't true but he's trying to turn Miranda against Fab.) Cesar then tried to force Miranda to kiss him, but Alejandro rescued Miranda.
After Miranda left, Cesar told Alejandro that he has every right to kiss Miranda because he's going to marry her.
Alejandro offered to accompany Miranda home, and she refused, then said, "I don't need anything from anyone, least of all you."
Heridas de Amor - Episode 5
Evil Aunt Bertha told Miranda that Florencia is going to die. Miranda slapped Bertha and accused her of lying, saying she won't believe it until she sees Florencia's grave.
Bertha told Renata not to tell Florencia that she is dying so she can be happy in her final days. Then Bertha secretly put new pills into Florencia's medicine bottle. (I think she is poisoning Florencia.) Bertha said to herself, "Now I have a new reason to fight: Alejandro Luque." From the expression on her face, it appears she is in love with Alejandro!
Miranda told Florencia that she will help plan Florencia's wedding to Fabricio. Florencia sobbed and thanked her, and said she will cancel the wedding if Miranda wishes. Miranda said, "For your happiness and Fabricio's, I am capable of this and more."
Fabricio talked to Alejandro about Miranda and Florencia. Alejandro stated, "Love is for romantics, not for men like me."
Nuria -- the dark-haired secretary in Gonzalo's and Cesar's office, who was raped by Cesar in a previous episode -- told Cesar tearfully that she loves him and they could be happy if they were married. Cesar refused and she told him it is "far too late" for that. Cesar told her, "Soon Miranda will be my wife. She is a true woman. Not like you."
Pamela (Miranda's friend) was stunned to learn that Fernanda is Miranda's mother.
Pamela was happy that Alejandro asked her out for coffee, but he only wanted to question her about Miranda. Pamela refused to answer his questions but gave him her business card. Alejandro said to himself that eventually Pamela will tell him everything he needs to know about Miranda.
Miranda told her father that she still loves Fabricio and wants to run away with him. She begged Gonzalo to help her, but he said, "Let him marry your sister." He told her not to tell Florencia she is dying. When Fabricio arrived, Gonzalo exploded, telling him, "You are going to pay with blood!" for hurting Miranda.
Miranda told Gonzalo, "Fabricio is not to blame. It is Aunt Bertha's fault. It was her plan to separate us. She manipulated Florencia." Fabricio said no, that's not true, he loves Florencia.
Gonzalo sent Miranda out of the room, then told Fabricio, "I could kill you!" Fabricio said, "No, godfather, you're not capable of that," but Gonzalo replied, "It would not be the first time" (ie the first time he killed someone).
He informed Fabricio that Florencia is dying and ordered him to marry her immediately, then said, "You are also killing Miranda, and for this, I swear, you will pay. After Florencia dies, I swear I will kill you."
Bertha went to the doctor and arranged to have a face lift and breast implants.
Miranda told Fabricio she loves him, that her arms will always be open for him, no matter what happens between him and Florencia, "What matters is my great love for you." Fab. told her she's crazy and walked away.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 4
After speaking with Alejandro's daughter on the phone, Miranda said to herself angrily, "Why do men always lie?" (Don't know why she reacted this way, unless she thinks Alejandro is married.) When Alejandro returned and asked if she had seen his phone, she said no.
It turns out that Cesar is Fabricio's brother. Their mother urged Fabricio not to break his engagement to Miranda and said his behavior would provoke violence. Then she asked Cesar to talk to Fabricio. Cesar snarled at Fabricio that he (Cesar) will marry Miranda himself, and Fab. was not happy to hear it.
Florencia again worried that Fabricio is only marrying her out of pity and doesn't really love her.
Cesar went into Alejandro's room and rifled through his possessions. I don't know what he was looking for, but after he saw Alejandro's drawing of Miranda, he went to Bertha and told her, "Alejandro is in love with Miranda." Bertha asked why he thinks this, and Cesar said, "Men don't have pictures of women in their room unless they are in love with them."
Bertha and Miranda argued again because Miranda is kicking Bertha out of the house. Bertha called Miranda a "monster." Later she told Florencia that Miranda is just like her mother.
Alejandro and Fernanda (the doctor) discussed Alejandro's father. Apparently years ago, after catching the father and Fernanda together, Gonzalo wounded the father. The father survived but recently died of the same wound (if understood this part correctly).
During their conversation, Alejandro said in surprise, "Miranda doesn't know you are her mother?" and Fernanda said no. I think she said she can't tell Miranda because she's scared of Gonzalo.
Alejandro said that he intends to get revenge on Gonzalo. Fernanda objected to this, asking, "How will you carry on your conscience the horror of revenge?"
Alejandro asked Fernanda if she knows what became of his father's portfolio, and Fernanda said no. (We saw in a previous episode that Bertha has it. Apparently there's something very important in it.)
Miranda visited the clinic and a nurse, Lulu, told her that the doctors and patients will soon be thrown out in the street to make way for a hotel. Miranda realized right away that her father and Alejandro are responsible for this, and she was furious with Alejandro (not knowing that he's already trying to help Fernanda prevent this).
The sick old woman at the clinic mentioned the full name of Miranda's mother, and Miranda told Pamela excitedly, "That woman knows my mother!" Without revealing that SHE is Miranda's mother, Fernanda shooed Miranda out of the room. Then she (Fernanda) told the old woman, "You have to be strong. Help me, I beg you."
Outside the clinic, Miranda yelled at Alejandro for planning to tear down the clinic, then gave his phone back and mentioned that someone had called. He asked, "What did she say?" and Miranda snapped, "I'm not your secretary."
A doctor visited Gonzalo and told him that Florencia only has a short time to live.
At the end of the episode, Fabricio and Cesar's mother, Rebeca, told Gonzalo, "Fabricio has committed a terrible error. He is not going to marry Miranda. He's going to marry another." Gonzalo said, "How can he do this to my daughter? Who is he going to marry?" and Rebeca said, "Florencia."
Heridas de Amor - Episode 3
Bertha tried to hug Gonzalo, and he told her rudely, "I'm not drunk." (ie he's only interested in her when he's drunk)
Fabricio told Alejandro that Bertha says Florencia's illness is not serious. (He doesn't know that Bertha told Gonzalo that Florencia will die soon.)
Miranda asked Gonzalo to throw Bertha out of the house, and Gonzalo told Bertha she has to move out right away. Bertha got revenge on Miranda by paying a servant to beat Miranda's horse, Chocolate. The horse was so badly injured that it had to be shot, and Miranda was heartbroken. She was told that a jaguar probably attacked Chocolate, but she doesn't think that's very likely.
Fernanda, the doctor, was told that she has only 48 hours to clear everyone out of the clinic. She was upset because there's nowhere for the patients to go. Later Alejandro visited and said something to himself about the clinic paying for Gonzalo's sins. Then he said, "No, I won't permit it."
He went inside and talked to Fernanda, telling her he can help her, and they soon discovered that they know each other because Fernanda used to be in love with Alejandro's father. Fernanda mentioned that his father is dead, and Alejandro said, "No. He was murdered." (Presumably his father is the man that Gonzalo keeps having flashbacks about shooting in a jealous rage after catching him with Fernanda.)
Miranda had a chat with Fernanda and mentioned that she also wants to do social work, but her father doesn't want her to because he believes in the separation of social classes.
Fernanda asked an elderly patient her name and the woman said, "Natividad de Cruz." Fernanda exclaimed, "It is Nati! Please Lord, let me help her."
Fabricio's mother, Rebeca, yelled at him for breaking up with Miranda, saying, "You are being irresponsible, playing with the feelings of two women."
Bertha told Florencia and Renata that Gonzalo ordered her to move out of the house. They were appalled and offered to go with her, but Bertha said no. She mentioned that their mother abandoned them to be with another man.
Bertha looked at some secret papers and said something about making Gonzalo pay. I think the papers have something to do with Alejandro's father.
After hearing about the death of Miranda's horse, Alejandro sent her another horse as a gift. Miranda went out riding, looking for him. When she met him, he said, "Let me guess, you have too much pride to accept this gift from me." She said, "No, I will keep the horse because I like him, but don't think you're going to conquer me with presents."
She asked Alejandro what kind of business is doing with her father, and Alejandro said they are planning to build hotels. Miranda said haughtily, "I have nothing more to say to you," and he laughed and rode away.
He dropped his cell phone. It rang, so Miranda picked it up and answered. The female caller asked for Alejandro, and Miranda said, "He is sleeping. This is his girlfriend. Who is this?" The caller replied, "I am his daughter."
Heridas de Amor - Episode 2
Miranda refused to believe that Fabricio no longer wants to marry her. Finally he said, "I love you with all my soul," and I think he mentioned that they had been childhood sweethearts, but he still insisted that he intends to marry her sister Florencia.
He walked away and Miranda started to chase him, but Alejandro (Fabricio's friend, the one who met Miranda briefly in the airport) suddenly appeared, grabbed Miranda, and kissed her, saying, "You are not a woman for a boy like Fabricio. You are a woman for a man like me."
Miranda angrily said "When someone steals something from me, I steal it back" (or something along those lines) and kissed Alejandro, then stormed away.
A secretary named Nuria brought Gonzalo (Miranda's father) some important papers related to work. Gonzalo yelled at his assistant, Cesar, saying that the papers were supposed to be Cesar's responsibility. Cesar went after Nuria and said he would punish her for giving Gonzalo the papers, then raped her.
The older female servant, Tomasa, found Nuria and tried to help her, until Miranda's aunt, Bertha, came along and lectured Nuria for some reason. I think Bertha told Nuria, "Remember our secret."
After telling Cesar that Miranda is upset about being dumped by Fabricio, Bertha gloated, "The pain of Miranda is my greatest pleasure."
When Fabricio told Florencia that Miranda was upset, Florencia said, "I'm sorry, but I can't marry you" and ran away. However, Bertha went after Florencia and claimed that Miranda(?) said Fabricio is only marrying Florencia for money. Florencia said, "I know I'm not as pretty as Miranda, but I'm a woman too. I'll show them," then went and made up with Fabricio. I think Bertha was lying in order to encourage Florencia to marry Fabricio.
Gonzalo, depressed about the news that Florencia is dying, met with Fabricio and Alejandro about business. Fab. tried to explain that he has broken up with Miranda, but seeing Gonazlo's mood, Alejandro stopped Fabricio, saying, "It's not the right time to say this."
That night, at Gonzalo's birthday party, Gonzalo introduced Miranda to Alejandro. She tried to tell him that Alejandro kissed her against her will, saying, "This man --" but Gonzalo interrupted, "This man is a very important business associate." When Gonzalo was gone, Miranda hissed at Alejandro, "Get out of my house!" Alejandro refused, saying, "I am invited. I am an associate of your father."
Later Miranda told her friend Pamela (who has long dark hair and seems to be a photographer), "If my father knew he kissed me, he would kill him." Pamela asked if Miranda would mind if she (Pamela) pursued Alejandro, and Miranda said, "Of course not, friend. I am not interested. I love Fabricio."
When Bertha (Miranda's aunt) met Alejandro, she repeated his last name (Luque) and seems to have known his father. Later Bertha went to Gonzalo and said, "I am an attractive woman, aren't I?" Gonzalo reluctantly said yes, and Bertha said, "Then why don't we marry?" Gonzalo said, "I've told you a thousand times. I still love Fernanda."
At the end of the episode, Miranda and Pamela visited a hospital. Miranda said something about giving her own money to the hospital, I think. They were introduced to a doctor, who seemed very eager to meet Miranda, saying, "Delighted to meet you. I am Dr. Fernandez." I think she gave her first name as Fernanda.
Heridas de Amor - Episode 1
Heridas de Amor means "Wounds of Love."
The old guy is named Gonzalo. He's apparently rich. He has three daughters: Miranda, Florencia, and Renata.
Miranda is the one with long curly hair. She is considered domineering. She is engaged to the young dark-haired guy, Fabricio. The wedding is all planned and apparently supposed to be soon.
However, Fabricio is secretly in love with Miranda's sister Florencia and planning to marry her instead. Florencia feels guilty about this. She's the one with straight reddish-brown hair. She is worried that Fabricio doesn't really love her, that he only wants to marry her out of pity because she's sick.
The blonde sister is named Renata. Miranda accused her of using their father for money. Miranda also doesn't get along with their aunt, Bertha, who raised them, because she found out that Bertha wants to marry Gonzalo (Miranda's father). Miranda's friend, Pamela, said that everyone likes Bertha except Miranda, and Miranda replied that Bertha acts virtuous but she's really "a demon in angel's skin."
Miranda confronted Bertha, accusing her of getting into Gonzalo's bed for money. Bertha muttered to herself, "I hate you, Miranda. I hate you as much as your mother!" Bertha is scheming to help Florencia get together with Miranda's fiance, Fabricio.
Bertha told Gonzalo that Florencia is dying of a heart condition and only has months to live. She said no one else knows about this. Gonzalo told Bertha, "Eighteen years ago you brought me news that broke my heart, but this news you bring me now is destroying my soul."
Fabricio's friend, Alejandro, is the businessman who fell in love-at-first-sight with Miranda at the airport. I don't think he knows her identity. Alejandro seems to have a grudge against Miranda's father.
The guy with the beard is named Cesar. He is Gonzalo's right-hand man. I think he's a villain. He visited Bertha, who told him that she knows Cesar has always been in love with Miranda. She said Fabricio will soon break Miranda's heart, which will leave Miranda in a vulnerable position and give Cesar a chance to win her over.
At the end of the show, Miranda welcomed Fabricio home. He told her, "No, I can't kiss you. I did come back from Germany to get married, but not to you. To your sister."
