Heridas de Amor - Episode 100

Miranda miraculously recovered from her illness, telling Alejandro he makes her want to live.

Cesar fawned over Renata, told her he adored her father, and asked her to visit New York City with him. Overcome by the offer of all that shopping, Renata fell into his arms. Juan saw her kissing Cesar and was heartbroken. Carola, of course, was right there to comfort him. Later Juan told Luciano he intends to start a relationship with Carola because she's always loved him.

Renata visited New York with Cesar and returned with bags of things he bought for her. Miranda, home from the hospital, wondered why Cesar was doing all this.

Bertha convinced Rebeca that Fernanda has been plotting with Alejandro against Gonzalo all along.

Alejandro's lawyer said she thinks she can get him out of jail. Alejandro said he's looking forward to meeting her daughter, but Liliana said after the case wraps up she never wants to see him again. Alejandro was surprised.

Florencia informed Nuria that the baby is going on formula so Nuria won't be allowed to feed him anymore. Bertha told Nuria that the baby is really hers.

Sorry for the abbreviated recaps lately -- the longer ones should resume tomorrow.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 99

A short recap tonight: Alejandro was temporarily released from jail and brought to the hospital to say goodbye to Miranda. Fernanda said Miranda's dying and the doctors can do nothing for her. Miranda told Santiago she's been fighting all her life and can't do it any more. Alejandro begged her to hold on for his sake.

Liliana (Alejandro's lawyer) was surprised and impressed to see a man showing his feelings instead of being macho. Pamela met Liliana and, like Miranda, took an instant dislike to her. Luciano teased Pamela about being jealous of Liliana and Pamela said yes, she's jealous because Liliana is perfect, and she doesn't want Liliana around Luciano. Liliana told Pamela she should see an analyst about her insecurity issues.

Juan had a confrontation with Cesar after he saw Cesar hugging Renata.

Nati told Gavino and Arcadia that she saw Bertha and Cesar scheming together. (She called them "Tongue of Serpent and Eyes of Jade.")

Fabricio told Florencia he was kidnapped by Bertha and "the man who shot your father." He said he's been afraid ever since, and now that their baby has been born, he's terrified.

Later Nati went to the hospital and told Fernanda to let her see Miranda or Miranda's death would hang over Fernanda's head like a curse (something like that). Nati gave Miranda some chocolate from a massive jug (don't know how she carried that into the hospital without anyone noticing), and then Miranda (or Nati) had a vision of Nati and a group of woman performing a ritual involving covering Miranda with chocolate.

Nati said something to Miranda like, "You have inherited the cocolbush and your children will inherit it."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 98

Nuria's baby was buried. That night, Miranda found her walking in the hallway with the other baby. Nuria told Florencia it was her baby. Miranda told her she needed to get some sleep.

The lawyer (Liliana) told Alejandro she would visit Miranda to get her to sign some papers and go over her testimony. After Liliana received a phone call from her daughter, Alejandro said, "I didn't know you were married." Liliana said she's not.

Amparo, Francisco, Carola, and Raul arrived at the hacienda with food, clothes, and money for the storm victims. Amparo commented to Francisco that Miranda looked pale and haggard.

Miranda told Luciano she thinks El Guapo was at the hacienda on the night of the storm.

Bertha told Cesar that Nuria isn't really her daughter. She can't have children. He demanded to know why she stole Nuria as a child. Bertha demanded to know why he married Nuria.

Sanson caught Nati eavesdropping on this conversation and brought her to Cesar and Bertha. Nati insisted she wasn't spying and no one sent her. Cesar let her go, warning her she'll be arrested if she trespasses on his property again.

Sanson told Cesar and Bertha that Alejandro's lawyer has found contradictions in their statements against him. Cesar said, "We'll have to get a good lawyer," and Bertha said, "Why? We're not accused of anything." She and Cesar ordered Sanson to follow Liliana and report everything she does to them.

Alejandro beat up two inmates who had been harrassing him. Santiago visited Alejandro and told him not to give up hope. Alejandro said he thinks Bertha is behind everything.

The owners of the neighboring haciendas visited Miranda to try to convince her to sell her property to developers. She refused and urged them not to sell. Just then Liliana arrived and introduced herself to Miranda.

Miranda was hostile to Liliana, telling her she should have called and arranged a meeting instead of simply showing up. Liliana pointed out that the storm made communication impossible.

Nuria cuddled Florencia's baby and asked herself how she would tell Cesar about their child's death, "He's going to beat me to death." Florencia found her and yelled at her for taking the baby from Florencia's room. Nuria claimed the baby was crying and Florencia said that wasn't true. Fabricio arrived. Florencia reminded Nuria that her baby is dead.

Renata arrived. Carola asked if she was planning to stay long, and Renata said sarcastically, "Remember that this is my house," then asked how long Carola was planning to stay. Carola said, "I don't know. I came as soon as Juan asked." Renata said this is her house, Juan is her husband. Carola laughed and said, "Not for long," because she heard they're getting divorced. Renata said, "That's none of your business," and stormed away. Amparo scolded Carola for fighting with Renata.

The exhausted Miranda finally collapsed and was taken away in an ambulance. Juan said he thinks she has pneumonia.

Fabricio told Florencia he will only be home for one day, then leaving again on business. Florencia told Bertha nastily to go away because she wanted to spend time alone with her husband.

Cesar arrived at the hacienda and embraced Nuria, pretending to be eager to see their baby (although in reality he already knew the baby was dead). Nuria told him the baby had died and Cesar said quietly, "You're useless. You're no good for anything." Nuria said it wasn't her fault, it was crib death. Cesar looked into her eyes and said softly, "The only person who deserves to die is you, my love."

He continued hugging and touching her creepily while saying in a mild tone, "How am I going to overcome such a harsh blow? It's your fault my child died. We are going to return to Mexico City to start divorce proceedings. I don't want you in my life anymore, imbecile."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 97

A quick recap tonight because I don't have much time. Luciano and Juan arrived at the hacienda with Pamela, who had been rescued by helicopter. As Miranda was welcoming them, Nuria ran in crying that her baby was dead. Juan examined the baby and said it was crib death. Bertha looked worried.

Later Bertha suggested that Nuria should breast-feed Florencia's baby, since Florencia is unable to do it. Juan agreed that it was a good idea. Bertha insisted on being the one to ask Nuria. She told the weeping Nuria, "What if I told you your baby is alive?" adding that Nuria should just do as she was told and she would later get a wonderful surprise. (This leads me to suppose that Bertha switched the babies and it was actually Florencia's baby who died.)

Nuria agreed to nurse the baby. Florencia was unhappy about it, and told Bertha to stop manipulating her. She complained to Miranda that she's only putting up with Bertha to help Alejandro -- apparently the sisters planned to investigate Bertha but so far they haven't learned anything.

Miranda worked to help feed and care for the local people left homeless by the storm. She developed a cough but refused to rest. Meanwhile, Juan's family members decided to collect food and other items for the storm victims.

Alejandro met his lawyer, a beautiful woman who said she believes in his innocence. Alejandro told her how worried he is about Miranda.

Sanson treated Cesar's bullet wound. Sanson said something about getting revenge on Juan. (He mentioned Juan's "old lady" but I don't know if he was referring to Renata or Amparo.) Bertha showed up and told Cesar his son had died.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 96

Trapped at the harvest house by the storm, Arcadia and the feverish Pamela listened to a news report. Arcadia told Pamela if the storm gets any worse, no one will be able to rescue them. Pamela later became delirious and Arcadia put her in a tub of cold water to cool her off.

Miranda and Gavino left the car and swam to the hacienda.

Nuria told Bertha they shouldn't leave Florencia alone, saying they could help deliver the baby together, but Bertha yelled, "I don't have the strength or experience to deliver a baby. Seeing blood is beyond me. Besides, if anything happens to Florencia, they are going to think I killed her!" So Nuria went alone to Florencia's room, where she went into labor, too.

Juan encountered Renata at the hospital. She said she intended to start divorce proceedings. Juan said he didn't intend to be separated from her, then kissed her. Renata admitted she still loved him but said she couldn't return to his house. Juan said he could now afford to rent their own apartment (in his current neighborhood), and that he now has his own free clinic for poor people. He gives them medicine, clothes, and food. Renata (the most annoying and shallow character in the history of television) started thinking again that Juan will always be poor and if she stays with him she'll turn into a tired, ugly old woman, boo hoo hoo.

Santiago told Fernanda that Alejandro's lawyer is very prepared and has found contradictions in Cesar and Bertha's statements.

After Fernanda examined Julio, Rebeca told Fernanda nastily to stop worrying about Florencia and Miranda because they've lived through a lot of storms. Julio told Fernanda that Rebeca is Bertha's friend, and Fernanda said, "Now I understand everything." Julio left, saying he can't listen to any more of Rebeca's comments because they'll give him a heart attack. Rebeca told Fernanda, "Every time Julio sees you, it's the same, problems between me and him. Julio is mine, only mine! If you want a man, look somewhere else!"

Alejandro borrowed a cell phone from a prison guard and phoned Luciano, asking him to take a helicopter to the hacienda to rescue Miranda, Florencia, and Pamela. (Alejandro must not have much experience with tropical storms if he thinks a helicopter can safely fly through one.)

Bertha suddenly realized Florencia's child will be Alfredo's first grandchild and therefore will inherit all Alfredo's money. She said to herself, "This baby is my salvation!" Nuria asked Bertha to help deliver her baby and Florencia's. Bertha ordered Nuria to fetch a bucket of water and carry it upstairs.

Miranda reached the hacienda, found Florencia alone, and delivered her baby -- a boy. Cesar secretly watched from the doorway of Florencia's room.

Fabricio called Renata and said he was in New York City and couldn't return to Mexico because all flights had been cancelled. Renata asked why he had been defending and excusing Bertha ever since his kidnapping. Fab. only said, "Bertha is incapable of doing harm to Florencia or the baby!" After hanging up, Renata said to herself, "How strange Fabricio is."

Bertha met Cesar in the hallway and told him Nuria had given birth to a beautiful boy. Cesar said, "The only baby that matters is the one I'll have with Miranda!" I think Bertha told him to get some chloroform from her room and use it on Miranda (apparently so he can impregnate Miranda). Cesar said he didn't like this plan, but agreed. He told her about the birth of Florencia's baby, and Bertha went to Florencia's room.

Miranda told Bertha to stay with Florencia, then went to see Nuria and her baby. Nuria and Miranda saw a shadow outside Nuria's room. Miranda took a gun and went outside to investigate.

Through the window, the viewer sees a man (must be Cesar) jump on Miranda. She fights him off and fires the gun, and he runs away.

Bertha arrived and Miranda said, "It was the Guapo. The man who killed my father is here." Bertha insisted that Miranda was imagining things. Miranda ordered Bertha to stay with Nuria and lock the door, saying she would return to Florencia's room. At the end of the show, the viewer sees blood on the ground - Miranda must have shot Cesar!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 95

Because of the holiday, the recap of tonight's show is abbreviated!

The pregnant woman shown at the end of yesterday's show was apparently Florencia (not Miranda as I originally guessed). Alejandro has been in jail for seven months, and Florencia and Nuria -- both heavily pregnant -- are staying at the hacienda with Bertha. A severe storm has broken out and Florencia, of course, has gone into labor with no doctor there to help her.

Fernanda and Renata are in Mexico City. Renata mused that she hasn't seen Juan in months and she misses him.

Miranda, Pamela, Gavino, and Arcadia were at the harvest house, which is about to be flooded due to the rising rivers. Pamela is very sick with what appears to be flu. Arcadia stayed with her while Miranda and Gavino set out to drive through the storm to the hacienda.

Bertha called Cesar (who is at the neighboring hacienda) and said their plans will have to change due to the storm. Also, earlier in the episode, Bertha told Nuria that her memories are wrong, she didn't live at the hacienda with Tomasa as a child, and she must need psychiatric help.

Alejandro is getting very little sleep in prison because Sanson's friends are psychologically torturing him. Meanwhile, Miranda is worried because she's running out of time to have his baby and save his fortune from Bertha. She told Fernanda that her greatest wish in life is to become a mother.

And that's it -- happy Thanksgiving!

Heridas de Amor - Episode 94

Alejandro explained to Miranda that he doesn't want her to have a baby because he couldn't stand to lose a child to the family heart condition. He was taken away to prison, where he was brutally squirted with a hose by guards who turned out to be friends of Sanson's gang.

Luis Alberto told Nuria he's sure Cesar killed Gonzalo. She yelled at him angrily, saying Cesar would never do that.

Charo saw Bertha's wound and Bertha ordered her not to tell anyone.

Juan came to see Renata, and Bertha ordered him out of the house, saying she's in charge now. Juan laughed at her and informed her that it's actually Fernanda's house. He went to see Renata, who told him she won't go home with him, she wants to stay in her own world and die.

Juan went home and told his family he wants to start a clinic to treat the poor. Carola immediately volunteered to work with him.

Luciano, Vicente, and Miranda fired Luis Alberto from his job.

Bertha mocked Veronica about her illness, then tried to convince Renata to divorce Juan, saying Renata shouldn't stay with him to the death (looking to Veronica for support). Veronica told Bertha, "Nor till old age, because when you get over a certain age you have nothing more to do. You know that better than anyone, right?" At that, Bertha left the room.

Veronica told Erika that Bertha is stupid to treat her that way when Veronica knows so much about Bertha.

Fernanda told Julio and Rebeca that they've always been her good friends and she wants to renew that friendship. Rebeca became extremely jealous of the warmth between Julio and Fernanda, and immediately called Bertha for help.

Alejandro told Luciano to tell Bertha he wants to speak to her.

Nati told Arcadia she still has the gun that Bertha used to shoot Alfredo Luque.

At the end of the show, we see a montage of a pregnant woman, apparently Miranda, with a voiceover of Miranda, Renata, Florencia, and Fernanda discussing how happy Gonzalo would be if he knew about the baby. Renata said, "When my aunt Bertha finds out --" and Miranda interrupted, "No, Renata, Bertha won't know anything."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 93

After seeing the shooting scene again, it appears to me that Bertha shot Gonzalo first. As Alejandro was coming up the path, he heard another gunshot, which might have been Guapo.

At the funeral home, someone (Vicente?) told Miranda that Alejandro was being detained by the police. Renata said, "Why? He is innocent!" and Fernanda agreed. Vicente (or whoever) said ballistic tests showed that Alejandro fired the same gun that killed Gonzalo. That, along with Bertha and Cesar's statements against Alejandro, made it nearly impossible to get Alejandro out of jail.

Miranda and Renata sobbed over Gonzalo's casket and, later, his ashes while Cesar and Bertha looked on. Meanwhile, at Amparo's birthday party, Juan (who has a great voice!) sang a sad song about what a great guy his father is.

Miranda visited Alejandro in jail and told him, "I believe you, my love." Alejandro said he shot Guapo so there should be some evidence in the house, but Miranda said the authorities found no trace. Alejandro asked, "What if Bertha and Cesar are accomplices of the Guapo?"

Vicente arrived and told them Bertha and Cesar had both tested negative for having fired a gun (?? maybe Bertha didn't shoot Gonzalo?)

Cesar and Bertha barged into Charo's room and demanded to know what she told the police. She assured them that she said what they ordered her to say -- that she heard Gonzalo arguing with Alejandro, then gunshots. Cesar threatened her, saying she would spend the rest of her days with Guapo if she opened her mouth, and Bertha told him not to scare Charo, "She knows her life will be terrible without fingers, without a tongue in her mouth." Before they left, Cesar lifted Charo's skirt and looked at her legs. When they were gone, Charo prayed to find a way to get Alejandro out of jail.

Rebeca and Julio complained to Cesar about not being asked to attend Gonzalo's wake. Cesar said, "Alejandro used us all in his revenge plot against Gonzalo," but Julio said he didn't believe it.

Fernanda and Fabricio broke the news to Florencia, who sobbed that she wanted to die.

Luciano told Alejandro he hadn't been able to reach Daira by telephone. Alejandro told him to fire Luis Alberto immediately and not to trust anyone except Vicente. Alejandro remembered the shooting and realized if Cesar and Bertha accused him of the murder so decisively, they must be in on it.

Wacko Bertha looked at objects on Gonzalo's desk, crying, then told Lucas, "I never imagined I would enjoy these moments with such intensity." She whined that Miranda stole Alejandro's love from her, then remembered Alejandro saying Bertha would never understand sublime wounds of love. Bertha said, "Yes, I understand," then stabbed herself in the chest with a letter opener(!!!) -- enough to soak her blouse with blood but apparently not a serious wound, unfortunately.

Juan (angry because Renata didn't show up for Amparo's party) complained to Santiago (the priest) that he and Renata hadn't had a moment of peace together since their marriage, "Maybe God doesn't want us together." Santiago said their happiness is their own responsibility, not God's.

I think(?) Nati told Gavino and Arcadia that Gonzalo's ghost will return to the hacienda.

Carola brought Amparo and Francisco a newspaper containing a report of Gonzalo's death. Juan arrived and Amparo told him to call Renata immediately. Juan asked why and Carola said, "Alejandro Luque killed Gonzalo San Llorente."

Vicente visited Alejandro again and told him all he knows about Gonzalo's investigation in London is that Gonzalo discovered many parallel accounts. Alejandro urged him to investigate further.

After Vicente left, Miranda told Alejandro, "We're going to need a lot of money to get you out of here. I wish I were pregnant." Alejandro said, "No, I've been thinking, and it's better you don't have a child." Miranda looked stunned.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 92

Rebeca gave Cesar all her jewelry to help pay Fabricio's supposed ransom. Miranda told Cesar to be careful, and he said dramatically, "I don't know if I'll return with my life. I love you so much, Miranda. Forgive what I'm going to do," then forced a kiss on her. After he left, Rebeca begged Miranda to give Cesar a chance.

Juan told Amparo and Francisco he won't give up Renata without a fight. Later he told Renata he wanted her to attend Amparo's surprise party that night. She assured him she would.

Gonzalo visited Florencia in the hospital and told her, "You are my daughter, and that's it." He said he was going to the hacienda to look at the library, and when he returned, the lies and confusion would be over. Before he left, he embraced Florencia and said he loved her.

Gonzalo asked Alejandro (via phone) to meet him that night. Vicente (Gonzalo's lawyer) asked Luis Alberto to tell Cesar that Gonzalo wanted to meet him, too. Alejandro asked Vicente what Gonzalo learned in London. Vicente said he didn't know. Luciano and Alejandro agreed that Gonzalo was trying to protect Vicente.

Fabricio told Nuria he never saw his kidnappers. Cesar arrived, gave Nuria the bag of jewelry, and told her to put it in the closet. Fab. asked who paid the ransom and Cesar said, "My mother and me." Fab. said he would pay it back someday and Cesar said of course he would, "Nothing in this life is free." He told Cesar he wants to get the country house back from Alejandro. Fabricio swore to Cesar that the kidnappers didn't hurt him.

Alejandro told Miranda that Gonzalo wanted to meet everyone that night.

Gonzalo called Bertha, who said nervously that she had things to do and might not be able to meet him. He yelled at her and she hung up, then told Lucas, "He said he knows everything. You said you want to find the truth, Gonzalo. I'm going to give it to you."

Gonzalo returned to the library of the hacienda and relived aquella noche (that night). He realized that Bertha shot Alfredo in the back, Tomasa knew about it and that's why Bertha took Tomasa'a granddaughter, so Tomasa wouldn't talk.

Alejandro and Gonzalo squabbled over the phone about how to handle the company's finances.

Fabricio had a happy reunion with Florencia. He claimed not to remember anything about the kidnapping and said he never wants to discuss it again. Later he went to see Rebeca and told her he'll spend his life protecting her and Florencia.

That night, Gonzalo found Bertha waiting for him at home. He told her he now knew the truth, he knew what kind of monster Bertha was. She pulled a gun on him and said, "You want the truth? Then the only truth that exists is mine!"

While Charo eavesdropped, Bertha confessed to trying to kill Fernanda but shooting Alfredo instead, and causing Tomasa to fall to her death. She said Fernanda's love for Gonzalo was always genuine, but she (Bertha) tricked Alfredo into thinking Fernanda wanted to run away with him. She was the one who let Alfredo into the house that night etc.

Gonzalo said, "You're a dirty woman!" Bertha then confessed to giving Florencia placebos all her life instead of her heart medication, saying she did all of these things to get slow revenge on Fernanda and Miranda because they always took everything she wanted in life.

Cesar arrived and said, "If I'd known the party had started, I would have gotten here earlier." He called Gonzalo a dog and gloated that he would be left with all Gonzalo's money "and your daughters. They are going to be mine."

Then Bertha apparently shot Gonzalo (although it might have been Guapo, who was standing behind Gonzalo). Gonzalo fell forward onto the floor. Alejandro, approaching the house, heard the shot and called out. Guapo told Bertha and Cesar to leave, saying he would deal with Alejandro, "If necessary I'll kill him." Bertha said, "No, we have to blame him!"

Guapo gave Gonzalo's briefcase to Cesar, who left the room with Bertha. Alejandro ran into the room and examined Gonzalo. Guapo approached and Alejandro kicked the gun out of Guapo's hand, then grabbed it and shot Guapo in the shoulder as he ran away. Guapo forced Charo to let him out through a back door.

Bertha and Cesar returned as Alejandro was bending over Gonzalo's body again. Bertha said, "Why did you do it, Alejandro?" and Cesar said, "Are you crazy, idiot?" Alejandro, showing his usual cool demeanor, pointed the gun at them (way to look innocent!) and yelled wildly that it wasn't him. Just then Miranda, Renata, and Fernanda ran into the room.

Alejandro said, "It wasn't me, Miranda!" and she said, "I believe you! Was it you, Bertha?" Alejandro said it was Guapo, but Cesar insisted he and Bertha heard Alejandro arguing with Bertha. I think(?) he also said they came into the room in time to see Alejandro shoot Gonzalo. Alejandro pointed the gun at Cesar and yelled, "Quiet, damn it, I'll kill you without pity!" Miranda restrained him, Gonzalo died, Miranda and Renata began sobbing over his body, Fernanda cried, Alejandro looked worried, and Bertha and Cesar smirked at each other.

The episode ended with Amparo enjoying her surprise birthday party. (Renata, for obvious reasons, wasn't there.)

Heridas de Amor - Episode 91

Miranda told Luciano she would spend the night at her father's house because Daira and Alejandro need to be alone to talk.

Renata argued with herself in the mirror about which she loves better: Juan or a life of luxury. She ended up yelling and shaking her hairbrush at her reflection. She's not crazy or anything.

Daira told Alejandro she dreamed she saw Lizania smiling and heard her laughter and voice, then woke up smelling Lizania's perfume in the room. Alejandro said he had the same dream, but they were both imagining things. Daira said, "Or it could be confirmation that she is OK." Alejandro said, "I hope so."

Daira said again that she wants to return to Italy, and assured Alejandro that neither of them is to blame for Lizania's death. Alejandro thanked her. Daira said, "I am sure that some place, one day, I will meet my daughter again."

Charo told Miranda about the phone call Bertha received from a friend in Italy, telling Bertha that Alejandro has powerful friends there.

Trinidiad told Guapo that Fabricio asked her to call his mother but claimed she didn't do it. Guapo told her he won't kill Fabricio. After Trinidad left, he threw a bucket of water over Fabricio to wake him up, saying it was time for Fabricio to leave and "carry out your destiny."

Cesar visited Bertha at Gonzalo's house. Charo told them Juan was there with Renata. Bertha fumed that it was the last time Juan would set foot in the house. Cesar said, "We have to think of something very strong for Juanita. Something that will hurt his soul." Bertha suggested, "Renata," and Cesar said he totally agreed.

Bertha interrupted a romantic moment between Renata and Juan, claiming she'd thought Renata was alone. Juan told Bertha, "Renata is my wife, and I should be at her side." Just then Gonzalo arrived and Bertha stared at him like a deer in the headlights.

Bertha complained that Gonzalo thinks the worst of her, asking Renata if she'd ever done anything to hurt her. Renata said no. Bertha said SHE took care of Renata while Gonzalo was too busy working, bla bla bla. Renata looked a bit bored by Bertha's ranting. Juan said, "I'm sorry for interrupting, Bertha, but this has nothing to do with what we were saying." Gonzalo agreed, "That's right, Bertha, don't try to confuse us."

Renata said they were crucifying Bertha and gave her a hug. Juan said sternly, "Renata, you haven't greeted your dad. Renata, your dad is waiting." So Renata hugged Gonzalo, causing Bertha to run out of the room crying.

She ran to her room and raved to Lucas that Juan had unhinged her (that's for sure), then said something like, "Very well, Johnny. If you don't want to submit for the good, you have a lot of family to force you to submit for the bad. You're going to be crawling at my feet, Johnny, and when you are, I'm going to teach you something you'll never forget."

Renata went to comfort Bertha, leaving Juan and Gonzalo alone together. Juan said Bertha's not going to separate him from Renata because he loves her. Gonzalo said, "I don't know if she loves you the same way. There are many things that separate you. Maybe you don't have a future." Juan insisted that he and Renata love each other with all their souls. Gonzalo said, "I spoke only for your sake. It's better. Renata is my daughter --" and Juan interrupted to remind him that Renata is his wife. "Please, sir, allow me to occupy the place where I belong." Gonzalo patted him on the shoulder and left the room.

Meanwhile Renata listened to Bertha sobbing that Juan is trying to take her place in the house. "He treated me like trash. Why do you let him treat me this way? Talk to him and tell him to respect me! It's the only thing I ask!"

Renata went to Juan and told him to respect Bertha. Juan said he only defended himself against Bertha and obviously it was a mistake for him to come here. He said he was going home, adding, "Come back with me to the only place I can offer now." The next day we see Renata having breakfast with Bertha, so obviously she chose not to go home with Juan.

Gonzalo told Miranda he knows fathers aren't supposed to have favorites, but he's always been closest to her and would give his life for her happiness. Miranda said, "I would give my life for you, too, if necessary," and they embraced.

Carola was promoted to supervisor at the supermarket.

Alejandro told Luciano he's not going to investigate Lizania's death since Daira doesn't want him to and Lizania died of natural causes.

Cesar kissed Nuria violently. She said he was hurting her and Cesar growled, "If it doesn't hurt, it's not love," and forced her to agree. Nuria started cleaning the apartment and found Lizania's necklace. She put it on.

Later she came home as Cesar was leaving. He told her that Fabricio was there, but not to ask any questions about how he was rescued and not to cook anything for him. After Cesar left, Fab. came out of the bedroom and told Nuria he isn't going immediately to see his mother and Florencia because Cesar said the shock would be too much for them. Nuria told him she's living with Cesar because she's married to him. Fabricio said he was hungry, so Nuria went to make breakfast for him.

Cesar went to his mother's house and found Rebeca with Miranda. He told Rebeca dramatically that she has to raise a million pesos "or they'll kill Fabricio."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 90

An old lady came to the hospital because she was having a heart attack. A snooty nurse tried to throw her out, saying the hospital is only for rich people, but Juan insisted on treating her. The nurse complained to Dr. Escalante, who said Juan was right, their job is to save lives. He fired the nurse and thanked Juan for reminding him of his own lost ideals.

Daira told Alejandro no one killed Lisania, it was a heart attack etc. Alejandro told her, "Forgive me. I've failed you, my father, and Lizania."

Renata told Florencia about Lizania's death. Veronica apologized to Florencia for everything's she's done, and Florencia forgave her. Veronica asked if she's afraid to die and Florencia said no, she's only afraid of not being strong enough to have her baby.

Renata told Juan about Lizania's death. He later saw Raul but didn't mention Lizania to him (maybe that will happen in the next episode).

Bertha amused herself by bringing Renata a gift box and pretending she didn't know who it was from. Rebeca was terrified, thinking it contained part of Fabricio's body, but Bertha insisted on opening it. It contained chocolate fingers, which Bertha ate in front of the hysterical Rebeca. Cesar arrived and said, "You heard about the death, right?" and Rebeca fainted.

Cesar revived his mother and told her it was Lizania, not Fabricio, who died. Rebeca said, "My God! Such a young girl, so pretty, and above all, so much in love with you!" Angrily Cesar ordered her not to tell anyone else that Lizania loved him because it would cause problems.

Renata overheard Fernanda telling Juan how upset she was about Lizania's death, "No one ever thinks they will lose a child." Renata said Fernanda still has her three daughters, then hugged her. Later Fernanda told Juan that Renata doesn't really love her and maybe she never will.

Alejandro told Miranda he's going to talk to the police about why Lizania's body, car, and purse were all found in different places. Daira said she wants to return to Italy tomorrow with Lizania's ashes.

Cesar told Bertha he was going to Alejandro's house, "I want to look directly into his eyes and see the magnitude of his pain."

When Alejandro saw Cesar he yelled, "What are you doing in my house, idiot?" and grabbed him. Miranda said Cesar has been very supportive, and Daira agreed. Alejandro told Cesar, "Gracias y adios! I don't want you here even if you've turned into a saint, understand?"

Cesar put on his sad face and asked for a truce, saying he knew Lizania. Daira told Alejandro about Cesar's imaginary friends who supposedly saw a man hitting Lizania. Alejandro asked to be left alone with Cesar.

Cesar (crying ostentatiously) gave Alejandro his usual song and dance about his friends not being able to share any useful information about the abusive man's identity. Alejandro asked why Cesar didn't tell him about this before, and Cesar said Alejandro wouldn't have answered his calls.

Cesar said he understands Alejandro's pain because he's now confronting the possibility of his brother's death. Alejandro replied, "No, you don't know, and I hope you never find out," adding, "I don't want to be a hypocrite. I'm grateful you came to give me your condolences. My grief is great and I don't want to share it with you, so I'd be grateful if you'd leave and never come back here."

Cesar said, "I understand your message," and hugged Alejandro. Then he went to the casket of Lizania's ashes and said (while having a flashback of Lizania's death), "Little girl, how vile destiny clipped your wings. Rest in peace, my sweet Lizania," then kissed the casket. UGH

Fernanda told Juan, "Lizania's death was horrible. The forensic examiner said her levels of adrenaline were the maximum." Juan observed that Lizania must have been under a lot of stress.

Amparo told Roman she wants to take baking classes and open a confectioner's shop before they get married. She assured him this will only take a few months. He said OK.

Cesar and Bertha gloated over how upset Alejandro is. Bertha said she was sorry she couldn't personally see Alejandro's suffering. Cesar said she'll have other opportunities. Bertha said, "Guess who's next?" and Cesar asked, "What letter are we up to?" She said "L," and Cesar guessed, "Miranda." Bertha said yes, next they will stop Miranda from having Alejandro's baby, or make sure it's someone else's baby (pointing at Cesar as she said this). Cesar said, "I like how you think."

Roman, Francisco, and Francisco's sons planned a surprise party for Amparo.

Alejandro told Miranda his revenge plot caused him to lose everything, "My fortune, my sister, and you." Miranda said, "You will never lose me."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 89

Luis Alberto told Cesar, "We need to run away!" Cesar said, "Only cowards run away." Luis Alberto said, "I don't want to spend the rest of my life in jail," and Cesar (insanely angry), yelled, "Absolutely nobody is going to jail!" He said if Gonzalo wanted to have them arrested he'd have done it already, adding, "I am going to play my last card."

He told Luis Alberto about Lisania's death, saying she died of a heart attack. Luis Alberto commented that Cesar had disposed of the body in cold blood, and Cesar said, "Now you know what I'm capable of doing if you betray me." Luis Alberto said, "I will never betray you."

Nuria showed up and Cesar was all over her, kissing her and calling her "mi vida." He said to tell anyone who asks that she's been living with him since they got married, she was with him last night, and no one came to see him.

Nuria said Bertha wants her to make a will. Cesar said maybe Bertha wants to kill her, then said he's just kidding. Nuria tried to smile.

Bertha told Fabricio if he wants to be freed he has to become her defender, "It's not a request, it's an order." Fabricio said, "I'm going to denounce you for this, and for the deaths of Florencia's doctors." Bertha said, "Imagine your little woman or Rebeca tortured in front of your eyes."

Renata (still living at her father's house) visited the Jimenez house to take care of Amparo, who appears to have the flu. Carola asked Renata to teach her how to dress and do her makeup more naturally. Renata agreed. (I don't think Renata's makeup is any more natural than Carola's, but they didn't ask me.)

Guapo gave Fabricio some sort of shot. Bertha told him she wants Fabricio's suffering to be psychological, not physical. She ordered Guapo to tell Fab. in great detail about the atrocities he will commit against Florencia, their baby, and Rebeca if Fab. goes to the police. Guapo carried out her instructions.

Renata dreamed she was telling Juan she wanted to break up with him. Then she woke up and said, "I would die if Juan hated me."

Miranda asked Renata if she knows who was beating Lizania. Renata said no, but Lizania said at Miranda's wedding that Renata introduced her to the man. Renata concluded, "The only man I introduced to Lizania was Cesar."

The next day Miranda went to Cesar's apartment and said, "Lizania is here, isn't she!" but was surprised to see Nuria coming out of his bedroom instead. Just then Miranda got a phone call from Daira, who said the body of a woman resembling Lizania had been found.

Miranda and Cesar (ugh) identified the body. Cesar lectured Miranda for thinking he would ever hit a woman. He said his "friends" who saw the real abuser were tourists who had since left the country.

Fernanda spoke to the medical examiner and learned Lizania had the same hereditary heart condition as Florencia and Alfredo Luque. Lizania died of a heart attack brought on by very high stress. Cesar told Daira, "You don't know how sorry I am." Santiago said Miranda was arranging Lizania's cremation.

At home, Daira told Miranda that Lizania was the light of Alejandro's eyes. Santiago assured them that Alejandro's mother (his sister) had Alejandro thoroughly tested when he was a child and his heart is fine.

Alejandro arrived and asked, "Do you have news of Lizania?" No one answered, but Daira pointed at the container of Lizania's ashes. Alejandro fell on his knees, hugging the container and crying.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 88

Daira asked Cesar to put her in contact with his friends who supposedly know the identity of Lizania's abusive boyfriend. He said he doesn't have their phone numbers but he'll look for them at the club.

Luis Alberto told Cesar he knows when Gonzalo is returning to Mexico and what his flight number is.

Julio wanted to call the police about Fabricio's kidnapping, but Bertha showed up and talked him out of it. Bertha told Cesar she'll free Fabricio in a few days. He reminded her that he wants Fabricio alive.

Veronica swore to Juan she had nothing to do with the kidnapping. He invited her and Fernanda out to breakfast, where they convinced Veronica to attend a support group for her illness. She said no one cares about her, not even her parents. Fernanda called her "daughter" and Veronica cried, "It's been a long time since anyone called me daughter."

Miranda told Alejandro (by phone) about Lizania's disappearance. Gonzalo called and asked Miranda to go to the bank and look up some account numbers.

At the bank, Fermin told Miranda the accounts are in Gonzalo's name and have been used to commit fraud. She called Gonzalo and gave him the passwords to the accounts. He said he'll soon return to Mexico and everything will be different when he gets back.

Fabricio had a bad fever and told Trinidad he will die soon. Florencia dreamed Fab. came to her in the hospital and said, "I am fine, I swear. We are going to be together forever." She woke up in hysterics and said, "I saw him, Mama! He came to see me. He only came to say goodbye. They killed him. Fabricio is dead!" Fernanda yelled at her to be calm for the baby's sake.

Bertha visited Fabricio, who was too delirious to notice her. She called Guapo and said irritably, "I told you clearly I wanted him alive and conscious of his pain. He's no good to me in this condition." She gave Trinidad money to feed Fabricio, clean him up, and treat his fever.

Later Trinidad told Fab. an "elegant woman" came to see him. He said, "I'm sure it was Bertha."

Lizania's purse was found and a police officer brought it to Daira.

Gavino called Miranda and said something about the neighbors planning to sell their houses. He also said the chocolate might soon be under water (I think because it's raining hard and the river might flood). I didn't entirely follow this conversation.

Bertha told Guapo, "I told you to limit Fabricio's suffering to your imagination, but how limited your imagination is!" Guapo told her he has known Trinidad a long time and trusts her.

Later, Guapo went to see Fabricio and said he'd brought a visitor. Fabricio said, "Bertha." Bertha said, "So it is. Your dear Aunt Bertha, my love."

Daira told Miranda that no one knows who Lizania's abusive boyfriend is. Santiago asked, "And Cesar Beltran? Doesn't he know anything?" Miranda was surprised. Daira explained that Cesar said his friends from the club saw a man hitting Lizania, but he doesn't have their phone numbers. Miranda said, "I know all the girls at the club. I only need their names."

Luis Alberto told Cesar, "We are lost! We could be arrested at any minute!" because Gonzalo knows about the parallel accounts.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 87

Cesar told Bertha, "You killed her!" Bertha brushed that off and asked, "What are you going to do with the body?" Cesar insisted, "What are we going to do! Lizania came to my house many times and never died. The day you came, she died."

Bertha said, "It is your house, your little friend, your corpse, your problem. Solve it however you want. I'll come back when you're calmer." She tried to leave, but Cesar slammed the door. Bertha said, "Oh, I understand. You're afraid to be alone with a dead body."

Cesar (very agitated), said, "I told you. We are both in this together. We are both going to make this filth disappear." Bertha said, "How disagreeable," and complained about Lizania's eyes being open. Cesar snarled, "You are the expert! How do we get rid of the trash?"

Bertha closed Lizania's eyes, and Cesar mused, "How ironic. One day you get rid of the father, and now you get rid of the daughter."

Bertha flashed back to the night of Alfredo Luque's shooting and remembered telling Miranda, "Your mother left and she's never coming back because she doesn't love you. I am going to be your mother." Then she told Cesar, "I remembered something very important."

She said gleefully, "This body has to disappear where Alejandro and Daira will never find it" because then they will "pass their lives in torment."

Cesar worried that the police would investigate them. Bertha dismissed that, saying, "You don't have to be a doctor to know Lizania died of a heart attack." Cesar said, "How do you know?" and Bertha said, "That's how it is, period."

She pointed out that Alfredo Luque and his daughters all had heart conditions, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Cesar said, "And Alejandro?" Bertha gloated, "If necessary, we can annoy him to death, and who better than you, my love?"

Renata told Miranda she loves Juan but can't forget how much she likes being rich. Miranda said, "Money doesn't give happiness." Renata said, "I don't know what to do. Maybe ask for a divorce."

Juan told Veronica to learn more about her illness. Veronica said it doesn't matter because she's going to die and go to hell. Juan said, "This illness wasn't invented by God to send people to hell." He said a friend of his can help her get medicine for free. Veronica said she can't tell her parents she's sick because her mother might throw her out.

Daira called Lizania, who of course didn't answer. She told Fernanda she had a strange feeling of emptiness. She called Erika, who said she, Veronica, and Renata hadn't seen Lizania in a long time. Daira said, "She is with him, the man who beats her!"

Veronica tried to tell Florencia about her fling with Fabricio. Florencia said coldly that she already knows about that and Veronica's blackmail attempt. Veronica said she's not sorry because she needs money. Florencia said, "You kidnapped Fabricio!"

Fernanda and Juan rushed in. Veronica said she doesn't know anything about Fabricio's kidnapping but it's OK with her, then yelled at Florencia, "I am also dying!" Florencia passed out.

Juan yelled at Veronica for nearly killing Florencia. Veronica said, "Don't exaggerate! I'm dying, too, but the difference is nobody cares!" Juan pointed out that she never returns Renata and Erika's calls. Veronica said, "They can go to hell!"

After Sanson took Lizania's body away, Bertha started to leave, thanking Cesar for the "adventure" and the "exciting surprise." Then Nuria showed up, saying she had to take the stairs because the elevator was detained and she heard a loud noise in the elevator, like something falling. Cesar and Bertha claimed they didn't hear anything.

Nuria asked why Bertha never told her that she's Nuria's mother. Bertha said she would explain another day, then insisted on taking Nuria home.

Trinidad called Rebeca and told her that Fabricio is alive, but not where he is. Rebeca told Miranda about the call, who told Bertha.

Cesar told Sanson (over the phone) to abandon Lizania's car, purse, and body in different places. The next day, Lizania's body was found.

Daira told Renata and Miranda that she's worried because Lizania didn't come home. Renata said, "She told me she loved to be beaten, but she never told me who it was." She said it's too soon to start calling hospitals in search of Lizania, and Daira agreed.

Trinidad called Rebeca again and told her Fabricio is being beaten. Rebeca went into hysterics. Julio arrived and asked, "Who is being beaten?"

Sanson called Cesar and said there was no mention of Lizania's body in the newspapers. Cesar told him to keep monitoring the news. Luis Alberto arrived and told Cesar that Gonzalo has proof of his crimes. (I thought Cesar knew that already.) Cesar's door bell rang again and this time it was Daira asking, "Can we talk?"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 86

Rebeca told Florencia that Fabricio was kidnapped (thinking Florencia already knew about it). Florencia became hysterical and blamed herself because she asked him to leave the hospital to buy her a snack. Juan calmed her down.

Rebeca met Cesar in the hospital hallway and told him Juan accused her of homicide (because she startled Florencia). Cesar said, "The doctor is right" and told Rebeca's she's crazy.

Juan confronted them and argued with Cesar, then ordered them both to leave, saying, "Cesar, don't forget you are forbidden to enter here, whether or not I am here." Later Cesar brooded about why he didn't stand up to Juan, telling himself Juan would pay for it.

Luis Alberto told Nuria about Gonzalo's phone call to Alejandro. Nuria said, "We were idiots to follow Cesar's orders. We are his accomplices! We helped him destroy the business's name. I am sure sooner or later we are going to pay very dearly."

She went to church and prayed for help in clearing her mind and feelings. Santiago told her, "He who believes in God and has faith in his sainted mother is not alone." Nuria said, "I can't be pardoned!" and ran away.

Alejandro told Miranda that his father (Alfredo) always loved Fernanda, but Fernanda married Gonzalo and fell in love with him. Bertha, however, sent Alfredo letters, supposedly from Fernanda, saying Fernanda was unhappy with Gonzalo and wanted to leave him.

Hearing this apparently convinced Miranda to forgive Alejandro because they started tearing each other's clothes off.

Juan told Florencia, "Fabricio is a strong man and can handle the situation." Florencia prayed to the Virgin Mary, "Don't take away the father of my child. I beg you to protect him."

Luis Alberto told Cesar about Gonzalo's phone call to Alejandro, then asked, 'What are you going to do?" Cesar said, "Kill Gonzalo."

Bertha discovered Miranda and Alejandro together, half dressed, and demanded, "What are you doing here?" Miranda asked, "Do you want details, or can you imagine?"

Alejandro told Bertha that she can't touch his money because the accounts are frozen. Bertha yelled, 'What are you saying? It can't be! Miranda, you know Alejandro is using you to protect his fortune? The only thing he needs is a child." Miranda said, "I know. I signed a contract."

Alejandro said, "We can't give you an explanation, Bertha. We are busy." Bertha started crying and left the room. Alejandro then told Miranda he has to go to Italy to take care of some things.

Juan told Renata (over the phone) that he doesn't mind her staying at her father's house with Miranda because he's busy at the hospital. Renata asked him to come to the house, saying, "You are my husband. You should be where I am." Juan didn't like that suggestion.

Juan told Florencia he doesn't want to go to her father's house because Bertha is there. Florencia said, "You have the same right as Bertha to be in the house. You are Renata's husband." Fernanda said, "It is my house, and the only intruder there is Bertha."

El Guapo called Bertha and she told him not to beat Fabricio to death, "I need him alive."

Renata told Bertha she misses Juan. Bertha said, "In this world, you have to learn to be alone. You are a San Llorente. What you really miss is everything in this house. Do you want to wear bad clothes and sell tacos like Amparo?" Renata appeared to be swayed by this.

Daira brought Miranda a small box from Alejandro and told her not to open it until Alejandro called her tomorrow.

A woman brought food to Fabricio, saying she was hired to feed him. He begged, "Please call the police," but she said she couldn't because she was afraid of the men who hired her. As she was feeding him, he said, "I can't feel your hands." The woman said, "It's a circulation problem, but in time it will pass."

Fabricio asked, "What are you called?" and she said, "Trinidad" (Trinity). Fab. started crying and said, "Do you know the meaning of your name? Faith, hope, and charity." He begged her to call his house and tell his family where he is.

Trinidad said she couldn't help him because the men would attack her children. Fabricio said, "Think of my mother." Then I think(?) she said she didn't know how to use a phone, but Fabricio said, "It's easy," and started to tell her the phone number.

Cesar told Bertha that Lisania is just his lover, not his girlfriend. Just then his doorbell rang. It was Lisania, who said, "I came to say goodbye. I'm returning to Italy" and something about Alejandro going to Italy, too.

Bertha questioned her about why Alejandro is going to Italy. Lisania tried to leave, but Cesar grabbed her. The next time we see her, she's on the couch and Bertha appears to be suffocating her with a pillow. Cesar took off his belt to beat Lisania. Wheezing, she said something like, "I'll never let you beat me again," then collapsed, much to Bertha and Cesar's surprise. (She was rubbing her neck when she entered the apartment so I think she was already injured from previous beatings and possibly her lungs collapsed.) Cesar examined her and told Bertha, "She's dead."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 85

Rebeca told Cesar that the house (which he wants to sell) is in the name of Fabricio and Florencia. Cesar told her to talk to Fernanda and Gonzalo about it (I think).

Carola told Renata, "You can never love Juan like I do." Renata said, "No, it's different. Juan and I are married and no one is going to separate us." Carola said, "Go back to your life. Juan will be upset, but he'll forget you in time." Renata said, "I am never going back."

Amparo told Francisco and Raul she's agreed to marry Roman. She said she wants to open a confectioner's shop. Raul said he'll look online for information about lessons she can take (to learn to make candy, I guess).

Alejandro mentioned to Lisania that Cesar has always been in love with Miranda. Lisania said blandly, "How interesting." She and Daira agreed not to leave Mexico yet because of Fabricio's kidnapping.

Miranda told Renata that Gonzalo wants her to return home during the crisis. Renata said, "I can't do that." Miranda asked her to come home for just one night, "I don't want to be alone." Amparo told Renata, "Your sister needs you," so Renata agreed.

Francisco went to see Fermin (who seems to be the only banker in town) and apparently opened a bank account.

Fabricio tried to make a deal with one of his captors, offering to pay for his release. El Guapo apparently overheard this. He told Fabricio, "You are not here for money." Fabricio thought, "It is because of Bertha that they're doing this!"

The men tortured Fabricio (not clear exactly what they did to him). Afterward Fabricio thought, "Now I know what this woman is capable of. What if she kills me? She killed those doctors in cold blood!"

Cesar told Bertha, "Be very careful what you do to my brother." She pretended to be surprised, then admitted, "Yes, I have Fabricio. Nothing is going to happen. A few blows, nothing more." Then she said, "Fernanda is going to suffer first. Do you want the details?" Cesar told her to come to his apartment tonight because he has a surprise for her.

Miranda told Cesar that Florencia should be the one to decide whether to call the police about the kidnapping. Alejandro said, "Florencia can't know anything! How difficult is that to understand?" He said something I didn't catch, and Cesar ordered him to show respect to Bertha. Alejandro punched Cesar and they started fighting.

Alejandro pinned Cesar to the floor and Cesar said dramatically, "I can't breathe!" then said something in Alejandro's ear about being glad Alejandro was making him look like a victim. He told Alejandro to hit him again and Alejandro did.

Meanwhile, I think Fernanda told Santiago that Bertha told Nuria that she (Bertha) has heart problems. Santiago said they should talk to Nuria and tell her it isn't true.

Francisco told Amparo and Raul he's been thinking about what will happen to him when he's old because he doesn't have a pension. Amparo said he can always live with her and Roman. Francisco joked, "Yes, I'll sleep between you." Then he said he wants to go into a nursing home when he's old.

After his fight with Alejandro broke up, Cesar told Bertha, "His stupid sister will pay for every blow that idiot gave me." Meanwhile Alejandro asked Miranda if it upset her to see him covered with bruises. She said, "Of course it upsets me." Alejandro said, "Tell me you love me. That's the only thing I ask."

Cesar and Bertha interrupted them before Miranda could answer. Cesar and Alejandro started arguing again and Miranda said, "This is my house. If you're going to kill each other, do it in the street." Cesar apologized to Miranda and left.

Juan told Carola, "Someday you will meet someone you love, as you deserve." Carola kissed him, then said his lips were bitter. Juan said, "I love Renata."

Alejandro kissed Miranda and Bertha saw them.

Rebeca told her maid, Licha, that she's going to the hospital to see Florencia. She said when Florencia dies, she will have a right to claim the baby.

Alejandro went to Gonzalo's office and found some papers in the strong box (at Gonzalo's bidding). Gonzalo called Alejandro and said he has proof of Cesar's financial misdealings. Luis Alberto eavesdropped on this conversation.

Words/phrases from this episode:
trueno = thunder
reposteria = confectioner's shop
nuera = daughter-in-law

Heridas de Amor - Episode 84

Bertha convinced Miranda not to call the police about Fabricio's kidnapping. She told Miranda to call Cesar because he's Fabricio's brother. Miranda proposed a "pact of non-aggression" with Bertha, and Bertha accepted.

Juan told Renata that Florencia will be moved to another hospital to recuperate. Renata was unhappy because she wants Fernanda to take care of Florencia.

Daira asked Lisania who hit her. Lisania said, "He didn't do anything wrong. I provoked him to hit me." Daira said, "No woman in the world deserves to be hit by anyone." Lisania replied, "You don't understand. When you are in love, you have to accept everything."

Fermin suggested Santiago apply to the Vatican (about the false charges Bertha brought against him years ago, I think).

Daira and Lisania went to the hospital to say goodbye to Florencia before returning to Italy. Fernanda saw Lisania's face and asked, "Who did this to you?" Florencia said the man deserves to go to jail. Lisania said, "It was my fault! Why won't everyone leave me in peace?"

Fernanda examined Lisania and asked if her back hurts. Lisania said yes. Fernanda warned that she could die if she keeps letting men beat her up. Lisania said, "The most beautiful way to die, isn't it?"

Bertha called El Guapo. He asked, "Do you want a limit to the pain of the little boy?" (ie Fabricio). Bertha said, "Yes. The limit of your imagination." El Guapo terrorized Fabricio with a cage of rats, asking, "Do you like rats? Because they're very hungry." Fabricio thought, "These guys are psychopaths!"

Alejandro and Luciano looked at Alejandro's accounts online. Alejandro was happy because his money is invested in gold and precious jewels and no one can touch it, not even Bertha.

El Guapo called Miranda and said, "We're hitting him." Miranda heard Fabricio yelling and fainted into Cesar's arms. Alejandro arrived and saw Cesar holding her.

Bertha took Alejandro to the library and showed him the photos of herself with Miranda and her sisters when they were children (trying to convince him that she isn't so bad). She boasted that she and Miranda had been chatting about the photos like friends. Alejandro said, "I know perfectly well who you are. You are cold and calculating." Bertha said, "Women have to be more clever than men." Finally she got around to telling him about Fabricio's kidnapping.

Cesar refused to call the police because it could cause Fabricio's death. He said he was going to the hospital to see Florencia. Alejandro said no one was to tell Florencia about the kidnapping "on my orders!" They argued about who would go to the hospital and who would wait for another call from the kidnappers. Bertha told them all (Alejandro, Cesar, and Miranda) to go to the hospital and she would wait by the phone.

Luciano told Lisania, "A man who is capable of hitting a woman is capable of many things. You should denounce him." Lisania refused. Daira gave her a religious medal, saying, "Your father gave it to me when you were born." Lisania started to cry and said, "Forgive me, Mom!" and hugged Daira.

At the hospital, Cesar told Fernanda he may have to sell his house to pay ransom for Fabricio. Fernanda said, "Rebeca will die if you sell the house!" and Cesar retorted, "The life of her son, my brother, is more important, I assure you."

Miranda and Alejandro didn't tell Florencia about the kidnapping. They gave her some excuse about why Fabricio couldn't come back to the hospital, and she believed it.

Renata brought a gift to Raul and Carola (computer software, maybe). Carola told Renata, "I would give half my life for a friend like you." Renata said, "I want to talk to you about Juan, woman to woman."

Cesar told his mother about Fabricio's kidnapping and said he wants to sell the house to pay ransom. Rebeca said something I didn't catch that seemed to surprise Cesar. I think she said the house wasn't in her name -- something like that.

Miranda told Alejandro and Fernanda that maybe Bertha isn't so bad. Alejandro said angrily, "How can we forget all she's done?" Miranda said it was a mistake to talk to him. Alejandro said, "Yes, you should talk to Cesar, because he knows you better than me!"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 83

Santiago told El Guapo that Andrea is going to help him prepare the annual church party.

Pamela learned about Leonardo's death from a TV report and burst into tears. I think she said she doesn't want Andrea to know about it. Later she met Fermin and told him she has a letter for him from Leonardo.

Cesar chewed out Luis Alberto for not telling him that Gonzalo went to London.

Nuria went to the hospital to see a doctor and met Fernanda. Nuria said, "I know you. You are Miranda's mother, right? You are my aunt!"After Fernanda examined her, Nuria said she felt better. She apologized for calling Fernanda her aunt, saying she shouldn't have opened her mouth.

Fernanda seemed to doubt that Bertha is really Nuria's mother. I think she told herself that Nuria loves Bertha so she wouldn't say anything against Bertha. Also, Nuria said something about not wanting to upset someone who has a heart condition -- Florencia, I suppose.

Bertha and her dog intimidated Miranda in the hallway. Bertha imagined Miranda covered in blood, then said to herself, "That's how I want to see you, Miranda."

Miranda accused Bertha of using the dog to scare Tomasa into falling to her death. Bertha denied it, then pointed out that she took care of Miranda and her sisters from the time they were little. "Small children often have fatal accidents, but you never did. Why? Because I took care of you always."

She took Miranda to the library and showed her photos from the family trips they all took when Miranda was a child. Bertha said she was always the one who cared for Miranda and her sisters because their father never took the time. She said in her fake injured way, "When did I turn into a monster?" Miranda seemed to be having second thoughts about whether Bertha is really so bad.

El Guapo and some men abducted Fabricio from the hospital parking lot. They tied him up, blindfolded him, and took him to a room. Guapo hit Fabricio and warned him not to ask "stupid questions" or move.

After seeing Juan in bed with Renata, Carola started crying. She went to church, where Santiago saw her and said, "Thank the Lord, the prodigal child has returned." Carola said, "I feel alone. I am in love with the wrong person. I don't want to stop loving him."

Francisco told Renata, "In a little time you have adapted to our life." He gave her a doll. Amparo told Renata, "You are a part of my life," and Renata replied, "And you are part of mine." They encouraged her to forgive Fernanda, but Renata said, "I can't forget that she left me alone," and complained about how hard it was to grow up without a mother.

Alejandro told Fernanda he was worried because he hadn't heard from Fabricio.

Bertha told Miranda maybe she was wrong to encourage Fabricio's relationship with Florencia, "I assume responsibility for that, but she had loved him since she was a child." Then she told Miranda, "The history of your mother is repeating with you! What do you accuse me of? What is my crime?"

Just then Miranda got a call from Fabricio, who said, "They kidnapped me!"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 82

Bertha asked Cesar, "Do you have any idea why Gonzalo is in London?" Cesar got upset (because Gonzalo is probably investigating his fraud). He told Bertha, "I hope you don't have anything to do with this." Bertha smirked.

Cesar asked, "Why didn't you tell me you were Nuria's mother?" Bertha was surprised that he knew.

Cesar told Sanson to do something -- pick up Nuria, I think, but I'm not sure because I missed most of their conversation. He said, "If necessary, hit her." Sanson said, "As you wish."

Alejandro noticed the bruises on Lisania's face and demanded, "Who did this to you?" Lisania refused to tell him, saying, "It was an accident! We were playing." She insisted that she likes being hit.

Daira arrived and Lisania agreed to return to Italy with her, but Alejandro said, "You're not leaving here until you tell me who is the wretch who hit you!"

Pamela read a goodbye note from Leonardo, who said, "I prefer to die than let anything happen to you," and told her to enjoy the money he left behind. Pamela told Andrea, "He sacrificed his life for us!"

Fabricio told Florencia he had something to tell her and he wanted her to remain calm. He said, "When we were at the hacienda, we were having a lot of problems, and one day Veronica and I --" Florencia said, "You had relations." Fabricio said, "Only kisses and caresses."

Florencia said, "I know. Veronica told me." She asked him not to see Veronica again, then told Fabricio she loves him. She also said she knows she's going to die soon (she told Fernanda that, too).

Renata told Veronica to stop blackmailing Fabricio, "I'm not going to permit this!" Veronica said Florencia is going to die, and Renata retorted, "That doesn't give you the right to destroy her happiness!"

Veronica started crying and said she's going to die, too. Renata said, "We all die. What matters is how we live." Veronica said, "I can't live" and something about having trouble breathing. Renata said, "That is called fear. I felt it in the first days in this house."

Veronica said her medication makes her feel terrible and she doesn't have money to buy next month's pills. She told Renata, "I would blackmail you, too, if I knew anything!" Renata said, "Get out of my house," and Veronica sneered, "Do you call it a house or a pigsty?" then left.

Alejandro asked Miranda, "When are we going to talk?" She snapped, "I don't know. Maybe never!" She told Alejandro that Florencia knows he's her brother. Alejandro went to visit Florencia.

Bertha burst into Florencia's hospital room while Fernanda was hugging her and said, "If you knew who this woman was, you wouldn't let her embrace you. This woman is your mother!"

Florencia said, "I know, Aunt. I remember everything you and my father said that night." Bertha tried again to shock her, announcing, "Gonzalo is not your father!" Florencia said, "I know that, too. Get out, and never come back!" Bertha started ranting and Juan ran in to ask, "What's going on?" Bertha gave an insane scream and left.

Luis Alberto told Nuria, "Now and forever you have me. You know I love you. If you accept me, I will be a father to your child." Nuria said, "I'm married to Cesar." She said knowing that she's Bertha's daughter makes her feel very afraid.

Bertha visited the mother superior (at the convent where Nuria grew up) and asked why she showed Nuria's records to Fernanda. The mother superior said the records are open to anyone who wants to see them. Bertha said (I think), "I am going to do something to you, Mother."

Bertha went home, very agitated, and took some pills to put herself to sleep. She said to herself, "I am losing! I never lose. I have to change my strategy." She called El Guapo and told him she needs to see him immediately, then fell asleep.

Arcadia and Gavino asked Nati if Bertha will return to the hacienda. Nati had a vision of Bertha going nuts at the hospital. She said, "She will return. There will be death and much disgrace."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 81

Crying, Nuria told Luis Alberto (over the phone) that he's her only friend. She said Cesar changed his mind about letting her move in with him, and she's also upset because she learned Bertha is her mother. I think Luis Alberto said he would meet her later.

Santiago told Cesar about Bertha's shopping trip with Amparo, Renata, and Erika. Cesar wondered, "What is Bertha's objective with this family?"

Florencia asked Miranda to tell her the truth as her sister, woman to woman, "Whose daughter am I not?" Miranda said, "My papa's, but it doesn't matter. For my father, you are a daughter." Florencia said, "Is it true? He knows and doesn't mind? I want to see him. I want to hug him. He's the only father I have."

Miranda explained that Gonzalo was out of the country, then said, "That's not all. You have to know something more. Alejandro and you are siblings."

Florencia thanked Miranda for telling her the truth. "You've always been strong, courageous about confronting things. How much you cared for me. Thanks only to you, I was a happy child." They hugged.

Fermin checked his bank records and discovered that Leonardo's money was invested in a company that makes weapons. Luciano said, "This is the big leagues. We are on dangerous ground."

When Alejandro learned about this he said, "Then we are talking about trafficking in arms." He said he would take Leonardo (aka The Tycoon) to the airport tomorrow.

Pamela told Andrea, "I thought I had a father to protect me, but it was a dream." Leonardo said to them both, "I am profoundly sorry to have caused you pain." Pamela said, "Thank you for giving me the illusion I had a father," and she and Andrea kissed him.

Cesar beat up Lisania, leaving bruises on her face, then told her to leave because her screams were getting on his nerves. She said, "I'll leave but I don't know if I'll return tomorrow." Cesar snarled, "Return. I know very well that you will do it," and threw her out of his apartment.

Renata said to Erika, "Fernanda de Aragon returned to our lives, and I don't know what to do, how to treat her." Erika advised her to listen to Fernanda's version of things.

Wacko Bertha told Lucas (the dog), "You don't know everything I've done, and when I tell you, you're going to be very proud of Mama. Now I have to help Florencia die, end Renata's marriage, and avoid by all means Miranda becoming pregnant. Also I have to take care of Daira and Lisania to torture Alejandro. Yes, Alejandro, soon you will know my concept of love!"

Charo informed Miranda that Veronica recently came to the house looking for Bertha. Miranda ordered her not to let anyone into the house, then locked her bedroom door.

Leonardo called Alejandro and asked him to do something, saying, "I've been thinking, and this is the only way to stop them from bothering us forever." Alejandro said he would feel guilty about doing what Leonardo asked, but Leonardo said, "You are too intelligent to blame yourself for things that aren't your fault." Alejandro agreed to Leonardo's plan, saying, "You are a total gentleman."

Daira asked Alejandro, "What are you going to do?" and he said, "Hand Leonardo over to the police. That's what he asked me to do."

Miranda looked through the envelope Florencia found in Bertha's room and wondered, "What's Bertha doing with all Nuria's papers?" She decided to give them to Nuria, then began thinking about Alejandro, saying, "I want to see him, hug him, kiss him."

The next day, Charo told Bertha that Gonzalo went to London. Bertha looked very worried.

Carola told Renata, "Please don't upset Fernanda. She's a great woman. You don't know how she's suffered for her three girls." She told Renata a long story that made Renata cry. Carola said, "I only wanted you to know her side of the story." Renata then gave Carola a new jacket.

Daira got a phone call from Cesar, who asked if Lisania is all right, claiming he heard from her friends that "a guy" hit her.

At the airport, Ambrosio (the leader of the corrupt government agents) told his men, "The Tycoon already left the suitcases where we said. We have the money. Now we have to escort him."

Meanwhile Leonardo, walking through the airport, thought to himself, "How good to know I am leaving this place to be free forever."

Then Ambrosio got a call telling him, "Abort the mission! The suitcases are empty!" Ambrosio said, "That bastard! We have to leave here. The Tycoon didn't bring the money. I swear those old women are going to die, and the banker!"

He followed Leonardo onto an escalator and shot him in the back, then said, "Tell me where the money is, or the old women will die!" but a police SWAT team appeared and shot Ambrosio.

Leonardo asked an officer, "Did you arrest them all?" The cop said, "We have detained all the leaders of the gang. Don't worry." At that, Leonardo died.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 80

Miranda told Alejandro it wasn't a good time to talk because Pamela was there. I missed the rest of their conversation, but Alejandro left and Miranda burst into tears. Pamela asked, "What have you done, Miranda?" and Miranda cried, "I don't know."

Bertha buttered up Amparo and Francisco, saying she's happy Renata married into such a wonderful family. Renata seemed suspicious about why Bertha was being so nice, but Amparo and Francisco believed it. Francisco said their homes and their hearts are open to Bertha. Roman said to Bertha, "You're very pretty. Are you married? Do you have children?" Bertha said no.

As soon as Bertha was alone with Renata, she demanded, "How can you live in this place? How can you sleep in that bed?" Then she begged Renata for help and support, insisting, "I am not a killer."

Juan told Fernanda and Florencia about Bertha's threat against his family, but he didn't seem to take it seriously, saying Bertha probably doesn't even remember what she said. Fernanda replied, "You don't know my sister." When Juan learned that Bertha was visiting his house, he got worried.

Miranda found the envelope Florencia told her about and thought about giving it to Alejandro, then hid it under her pillow.

Fernanda saw the flowers Renata left in her apartment and realized they must be from Renata because "no one else knows it's my birthday."

Bertha took Amparo, Erika, and Renata shopping. Fernanda was upset about this and Francisco didn't understand why. Roman said, "I don't like Bertha," then asked Fernanda, "Did you know your sister has a daughter?" Fernanda said Bertha can't have children.

Roman brought them to the convent where Nuria grew up, but the mother superior wouldn't answer their questions. After they left, the apparently evil mother superior told another nun not to feed the children (I think) and to bathe them "in cold water on the patio." She asked if the other nun remembered Nuria and the nun said yes, she remembers how much they punished Nuria. The mother superior said she would tell Bertha about Fernanda's visit.

Fermin told Alejandro and Luciano that the federal agents threatened to kill him and Pamela. Alejandro said, "We have to denounce them to the authorities!" but Fermin apparently thought that was too dangerous.

Meanwhile the agents visited Andrea (Pamela's mother) and Ambrosio said, "Years ago I asked you for Leonardo's account number and you said you didn't have it." Andrea cried, "I know who you are! What are you doing here? I don't know anything!"

Ambrosio terrorized her -- I think he threatened to rape Pamela. Before leaving he said, "Tell your daughter and el Magnate (the Tycoon) we want our money!"

Alejandro and Fermin found Andrea sobbing. She told them, "They want to rape my daughter!" Pamela confronted Leonardo and asked who he really was. He said, "Leonardo and I were cell mates. I saw him die and I couldn't do anything to help him."

He showed them the real Leonardo's diary and said it contained information about corrupt federal agents. Alejandro looked at it and said, "Guns and narcotics."

Leonardo said he heard so much over the years about Andrea and Pamela from Pamela's father that they became "my only family." After he got out of jail he spent years looking for them. He wanted to help them by getting Leonardo's money out of the country for them.

Pamela and Andrea urged him to take the money and flee the country. Alejandro said something about flying Leonardo to safety in his plane.

Cesar told Miranda he knows about Alejandro's revenge plot. He tried to kiss her and Lisania saw them. She said angrily, "Good afternoon. Am I interrupting?"

Cesar told Lisania he and Miranda are just friends. After Miranda left, Cesar snarled at Lisania, saying he doesn't have to explain himself to her. Lisania said she's going to see Fernanda to have some tests done. Cesar asked if she was pregnant and she said no, she's just agitated (I think that's what she said).

Bertha brought Amparo, Renata, and Erika home from their shopping trip and said later she will "have a surprise for everyone." She whispered to Renata how funny it was to see Amparo's face in the mall, then made some disparaging comment to Amparo about selling tacos. After Bertha left, Renata told Amparo not to feel bad because Bertha's always like that.

Later Renata told Erika that Fernanda is her mother.
