Heridas de Amor - Episode 79

Renata brought Fernanda some juice, saying, "I've hated you since I was a little girl, so I can't say I love you. Thank you for saving my sister." Fernanda replied happily, "It's my birthday, and this is my present."

Later Renata and Erika left birthday gifts in Fernanda's apartment, but Renata said she doesn't want Fernanda to know they're from her.

Carola told Fernanda it's her own fault that her daughters blame her for leaving them, because Fernanda always says "When I abandoned my daughters" and so forth even though she had no choice but leave them. Fernanda agreed that she should stop blaming herself.

Cesar and Sanson had a conversation about Renata that I didn't understand. Sanson mentioned his grudge against Juan, and Cesar said, "He doesn't deserve her."

The federal agent (Ambrosio) told Pamela he knows her father is dead because he was there when Leonardo died. He brought Pamela to her father's crypt, then threatened her and Fermin, saying, "If you don't return the money in 48 hours, many people will die in both your families."

Gavino told Miranda to leave the hacienda because someone was in the house last night and "I think it was El Guapo."

Florencia phoned Miranda and asked her to find an envelope and bring it to her. Gonzalo called Miranda and said he's going to London to take care of "a personal matter."

Daniel told Gonzalo that Cesar talked him and Angel into suing Gonzalo, and later dropped the lawsuit because Cesar wanted them to. He also revealed that Cesar hopes to destroy Gonzalo's business. Gonzalo said, "Thank you for telling me. Soon it will all be over."

Fernanda told Bertha, "Thanks to you, Florencia is dying." Bertha said, "If Florencia dies, it is divine punishment." Alejandro arrived at the hospital and told Bertha, "Leave Fernanda in peace!" Bertha warned them, "If you think the party is over, you're wrong."

Fernanda told Alejandro, "I think Cesar and Bertha are accomplices."

Carola's boss called her "the best employee in the world" and congratulated her -- I think Carola got a promotion?

Bertha tried to visit Florencia but Juan wouldn't let her into Florencia's hospital room. Bertha insulted him, then said menacingly, "I wish you much luck with your family."

Pamela visited Miranda (at the Mexico City house, I think), and sobbed, "I am going to die! We have to return the money. He's not my father. My father is dead. I saw his crypt." Miranda didn't understand what she was talking about.

Alejandro visited Gonzalo and said, "We have to talk." Gonzalo picked up a gun and said, "About what? Your revenge?" Then he said, "I've been thinking. Only Bertha could have shot your father."

He told Alejandro to protect Miranda, "Last night a man went into the house. Talk to Gavino and protect her. She's your wife." He explained that he's going to London, adding, "I think I have Cesar in my hands."

Alejandro asked, "Do you need anything?" Gonzalo said, "Protect Miranda. Nothing more than that," and gave Alejandro the gun.

Francisco told Amparo to accept Roman's proposal, saying, "It's the opportunity of your life," and if it doesn't work out "you can divorce and return home. My door is always open to you. Love only knocks on the door one time."

Charo (the maid) told Miranda that Alejandro wanted to see her. Miranda told Charo to send him away. Alejandro said from the doorway, "Tell me yourself. Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want to see me. Tell me you don't love me, and I swear you'll never see me again."

Words/phrases from this episode:

estobar = to hinder, annoy
aduanal = customs (Pamela said her father was once a customs agent)
sosiengo = calmness, peace

Heridas de Amor - Episode 78

Fernanda told Juan, "Gonzalo is right. I don't deserve to recover my daughters. When Florencia is better, I will leave forever."

Fabricio told Fernanda, "Take my life if necessary, but save her!" He also said he can't forgive his mother for lying to him about who his father was.

Raul told Carola he needs a computer for his work (whatever that is). She said she'll buy one tomorrow and they can share it.

Cesar told Lisania (after beating her up) to go home and spy on Alejandro for him. He ordered her to act casual around her mother, saying "The problem is with your brother, not Daira."

He muttered to himself that it was a mistake to marry Nuria (now that he knows her mother, Bertha, doesn't really have a claim on Alejandro's fortune).

Nuria arrived and asked Cesar impatiently, "What do you want now? Should I fix a button on your shirt, shine your shoes?" because that's the only reason he ever calls her. Cesar said she can move into his apartment now. Nuria was delighted.

Luciano told Alejandro if he wants to make up with Miranda, he has to think like a woman. Alejandro tried it and decided all he has to do is clear things up with Gonzalo, then Gonzalo will talk to Miranda on his behalf and everything will be OK.

At the hospital, Fabricio told Juan not to let Bertha near Florencia, saying, "Bertha is a very bad woman." Cesar showed up and said, "My brother is right. Bertha is bad," warning that Bertha might try to hurt Juan's family. Juan said Bertha has no reason to harm his family, and Fabricio said, "She enjoys seeing people suffer."

Florencia asked Fernanda if she thinks Bertha killed the German doctors. I'm not sure what Fernanda replied, but she said it's strange that Florencia's health has never improved even though she's taken the correct medicines since childhood. Florencia demanded, "Who did I inherit this bad heart from?"

Fernanda hemmed and hawed and said it's hard to tell if a problem like this is really hereditary, then gave Florencia a drug that knocked her out. Fernanda said to the sleeping Florencia, "You will never find out that Gonzalo isn't your father. You would never forgive me."

Cesar had dinner with Fernanda and mentioned that Alejandro came to town to get revenge on Gonzalo. Fernanda asked who told him that, and Cesar claimed Fabricio told him. Fernanda silently doubted this.

Before leaving, Cesar suddenly hugged Fernanda and said, "Godmother, I love you a lot. You don't know how much." Fernanda gave him a strange look and thought, "Cesar knows more than he says. I have to talk to Alejandro."

The Guapo paid a visit to Miranda, who was sleeping, and left what looked like a little statue on her bed. Miranda woke up and found it. Her bedroom door was open and she said to herself that she remembered locking it with a key. Arcadia came to tell Miranda that Nati saw a man in the kitchen. Later Arcadia and Gavino found dirt and sand on the floor outside Miranda's room.

Words/phrases from this episode:

paredes del cielo y orillas del mar = walls of the sky and shores of the sea (this is from the theme song... which I am still trying to translate!)

Heridas de Amor - Episode 77

Pamela insisted to Fermin that, aside from his white hair and beard, Leonardo looks like her father's photograph. She said, "I am afraid because I don't know if the man in my house is my father or not!" Fermin said he doesn't want to get involved because he has a family to protect but he'll try to help her.

Alejandro told Bertha his father never loved her, only mentioned her once or twice with contempt. Upset, she called Alejandro a "romantic imbecile" for loving Miranda, saying his love has brought him only pain. Alejandro replied, "They are wounds of love, something you would never understand."

Bertha said, "You are going to be sorry, Alejandro! Take it as an opening declaration of war!" After she left, Alejandro told Daira and Luciano he's not afraid of Bertha, "That's what she wants from her victims."

Florencia told Fabricio she's sure Bertha killed the German doctors. She told Renata that their mother left home years ago because Gonzalo said he would kill their daughters if she didn't go.

Renata protested, "That can't be true" because Bertha told her otherwise. Florencia told her not to believe Bertha, and Renata said, "She adores us. How can you talk this way about her?"

Florencia said she doesn't have much time before she dies and she wants Renata to give their mother a chance. Renata refused to believe Bertha killed the German doctors but promised not to tell Bertha about the conversation.

In the hospital hallway, Renata met Fernanda and said she hates her because when she was a child Fernanda never came to Renata's school on parents' days. Renata whined, "Give me a pill or medicine that will take away this pain!" then ran away, leaving Fernanda in tears.

Gabino told Miranda he doesn't trust Nati, that Nati should leave the hacienda because she's a "nahuac" (I don't know what that means) and a witch. Miranda said women don't need witchcraft to get things done, "Nati simply prepares the chocolate with love."

Later Miranda asked Nati what she puts in the chocolate. Nati said, "Secrets of the gods." Miranda said, "Oh, Nati, there's no such thing."

Gavino gave Miranda a gun and said she might need it. I think he told her to lock the hacienda doors.

Santiago told Fernanda he knows who Tomasa's daughter is and where to find her. (I don't know where he got this information.) Fernanda wondered how they can prove that Nuria is Bertha's daughter, then said, "Miranda is the only one who can help us." (I don't know what she expects Miranda to do.)

Luciano got a phone call from Italy. Apparently Bertha sued Alejandro, and therefore Alejandro's assets were frozen. Alejandro said, "It is the first attack!" Somehow Luciano transferred Alejandro's money into his own account (I think), then Alejandro told him to put the money where no one can touch it until Miranda has a child.

Bertha agreed to give some of Alejandro's money to Cesar in exchange for shares in San Llorente Investments. Bertha said she wants to make Alejandro suffer terribly through Daira and Lisania, and "Miranda has to suffer as much or more."

Cesar didn't like the idea of making Miranda suffer, but Bertha said he should go along with it because Miranda has rejected him for years. Cesar agreed, "As you like; only tell me every detail."

They drank and cried together. Cesar remembered Miranda's wedding day, saying, "Coming down the stairs, Miranda looked not like a bride, but an angel. But not for me, Bertha. If Miranda suffers, Alejandro has to suffer, too."

Bertha cried, "He despises me, the bastard, like his father." Cesar asked, "Is that why you killed him?" Bertha said no, she never wanted to kill Alfredo, "I wanted to kill Fernanda, but I failed!"

Lisania arrived and told Cesar, "Alejandro and Luciano have found a way to get rid of Bertha." Bertha pulled a knife on Lisania and demanded to know what they were planning.

Lisania said, "In my father's will there was a clause that came into effect when Alejandro married, invalidating the documents in my father's portfolio." She said something about Alejandro's money being protected and frozen, "In short, Miranda needs to have Alejandro's child."

Bertha shrieked, "That can't ever happen!" and departed. Cesar snarled at Lisania, "Stupid girl! You never should have told Bertha that. Now you're going to pay for everything!" and took off his belt to hit her.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 76

I missed the first few minutes of the show. When I turned it on, Roman was saying to Francisco, "You're Amparo's brother, not her father."

Gonzalo told Bertha it was time to explain everything, but she said, "You're wrong, darling. I have nothing to say to you all." Finally she said, "That night, when Alfredo --"

Gonzalo cut her off. "Now I understand everything! Alfredo Luque is the man I shot!" Alejandro said, "Please let me explain --" and Gonzalo said, "Explain what? You came to get revenge!"

Miranda said, "How could you, Alejandro?" Gonzalo asked if Fernanda knew about the revenge plot and she said yes, "Alejandro told me." Miranda demanded, "What kind of people are you two?" Bertha said, "They have been laughing at you!"

Alejandro said, "There is an explanation for everything, which I'm going to give." Miranda cut him off, saying, "I'm not interested." Gonzalo ordered Alejandro and Fernanda to leave. Miranda told Alejandro, "I don't want to know anything from you! Nothing you can say interests me!"

Gonzalo told Fabricio to leave too, "You were surely Alejandro's accomplice." Fabricio denied this and Alejandro said Fabricio was telling the truth. Fernanda told Alejandro, "I'm going. I have nothing left to do in this house."

Bertha went to find Renata, who was crying over the news that Fernanda is her mother. Bertha told Renata to remember to be arrogant, then said she would tell Renata everything about her mother.

Alejandro finally agreed to leave but said to Gonzalo, "I am going to return. I am not done. Miranda, I love you." He pointed out to her that once more "Bertha has won."

After Alejandro left, Miranda said, "Tomorrow I'll start divorce proceedings." Gonzalo replied, "No, what Alejandro said is true. Bertha provoked all of this, and now she isn't here." Miranda replied, "All Bertha did was open my eyes with a blow."

Miranda went to her room and cried, saying, "This wound we have made has no cure." Then she realized, "He never loved me. He only used me to get revenge against my father."

Renata arrived to say goodbye to Miranda before going home. She made a nasty remark about Fernanda, and Miranda said, "She may or may not be the best of women, but never forget she is your mother." Renata then said something about Bertha, and Miranda said, "Be very careful with Bertha. She is a viper."

Bertha barged in and said she had done nothing wrong, that Alejandro and Fernanda were responsible for everything. Miranda ordered Bertha out of the room, then asked Renata to spend the night with her, "I don't want to be alone."

Alejandro sat all night drinking and crying, telling Daira and Luciano, "Without Miranda, nothing matters." He asked if this is what Daira's premonition was about. She said the tarot cards told her someone is going to die, and "the cards are never wrong." Luciano said, "Daira, my God, we're living in 2006!"

Cesar told Nuria that she should have all of Alejandro's money (through her mother, Bertha). She tried to protest and Cesar said that Alejandro "came to finish us all off because of a stupid thing Gonzalo did."

Gonzalo brought Miranda to the hacienda, where Nati was making chocolate. Miranda tasted it and started crying, saying, "I love Alejandro with all my soul and I've lost him."

Nati told her to "prepare the cocolbuch" then gave her some chocolate to eat. Miranda smiled and said, "It's the food of the gods. It's magical, Nati!"

Gavino arrived and said something to Miranda about industrialization that I didn't understand. She said, "No, it can't be."

Bertha visited Alejandro, who called her a monster. Bertha said, "You're offending me," and Alejandro said, "I am telling the truth!"

At the hospital, Florencia told Juan that she now remembers what happened on the night of the shooting. She said she needs to talk to her sisters and parents. She asked Juan not to let Bertha see her. He was surprised but agreed.

Fabricio told Juan about the deaths of Florencia's German doctors, saying he's sure Bertha killed them.

Fermin (the banker) told Pamela about his visit from the federal agent. He said the agent told him that Leonardo's documents were falsified, that the real Leonardo is dead.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 75

Fernanda told Juan, "Florencia remembered I was her mother and had a heart attack. Who knows what my presence will provoke." She told the sleeping Florencia, "Forgive me, daughter. I left because your father said he was capable of killing you all if I didn't."

Alejandro said to Miranda, "You and I have to look for a house." Miranda said, "I don't want to leave my father alone with Bertha," so Alejandro agreed to live with Gonzalo for a while.

Back at the hospital, Fabricio tried to stop Bertha from visiting Florencia, but Juan said of course Bertha could see her, "She is her aunt." Bertha smirked and started calling Juan "Johnny."

Erica told Raul she wants to be his girlfriend and introduce him to her parents. Carola was worried that Erica would behave like Veronica and Renata, but Erica said she isn't like the other rich girls (I didn't understand exactly why, something about her mother).

Gonzalo told Miranda, "We're going to confront Bertha. Tell Raul, Fabricio, and Alejandro too." Miranda said, "Finally Bertha is going to explain everything."

Juan brought Bertha home to see Renata. When Bertha asked Renata how she was, Renata (the idiot) started to cry. Bertha said, "Aren't I here as your mother? Aren't I here to help you with all this? We have to convince Johnny to leave here. You will because I say so. Not on word more."

Renata said, "Yes, aunt," but after Bertha left she said to herself, "Juan will never accept."

Fernanda told Fabricio that Florencia and the baby are in stable condition. When Florencia woke up, Fernanda tried to leave to avoid upsetting her, but Florencia said, "Don't leave me, Mama. I don't want to lose you. Forgive me."

Fernanda tried to apologize and explain why she left her children, but Florencia said she didn't want explanations. "The important thing is that we are together." Later Florencia told Juan she can die in peace if she knows Fernanda has reunited with Miranda and Renata.

Bertha met the Guapo at a restaurant and he reported that he burned the chocolate and the collectors' homes. She said, "Did anyone die?" and he said, "No one." Bertha said, "What a shame."

She told him to leave the hacienda in peace until the second harvest, then tried to pay him. The Guapo said, "I don't want money. Miranda San Lorente for me. I don't want to marry her. I only want one night."

Bertha agreed, "Very well. Take her. I don't care what you do." The Guapo told her if he can't have Miranda, "There is always you. You inspire passions and fantasies." Bertha clearly didn't like that. She said, "I need you to take care of Fabricio. Do exactly what I told you."

Daira told Alejandro that Lisania was furious because she was forced to attend Alejandro's wedding. She and Luciano reminded Alejandro that he'd better tell Miranda about the revenge plot soon or Bertha will tell her.

Lisania arrived and yelled at Alejandro that she's fed up, she wants her inheritance, and he's just her brother, not her father. Alejandro said, "Who put this in your head? The same person who hit you?" Lisania told him and Daira, "You don't know how much I despise you both!"

Bertha visited Cesar and he told Nuria to hide in his bedroom closet until Bertha left. He yelled at Bertha because Miranda married Alejandro. He also told Bertha that he knows a lot about her. She just laughed.

Carola visited Renata and told her Miranda called and said to ask Renata to turn on her cell phone. As usual, Renata was rude to Carola.

Annoyed, Carola asked Raul if Renata is prettier than her. Raul teased her, saying their bodies are similar but Renata has blue eyes and dresses elegantly. Then he said, "There will always be someone who's prettier or uglier than you. What's important is not to compare yourself to anyone." Carola said something like, "Oh, you mean self-esteem," and seemed to like this idea.

Veronica called Renata and said her HIV medicines are making her feel horrible and she doesn't know how to pay for them. Fabricio arrived to take Renata to the family gathering. Veronica told Renata to remind him of his promise to her. Renata quizzed Fabricio about this and he admitted, "Veronica is blackmailing me."

After hearing what happened between him and Veronica, Renata yelled at him, then advised him to tell Florencia the truth.

Alejandro told Fernanda that Daira is going to take Lisania back to Italy to separate her from whoever is turning her against her family. Fernanda said she was worried about what would happen at the family gathering that night, "I'm sure Bertha has a surprise in reserve."

Nuria told Cesar she's always been afraid of Bertha, "I don't know why." She repeated that she thinks she was at the San Lorente hacienda in another lifetime. Cesar said impatiently, "Other lives don't exist. You lived there when you were a child. You are the illegitimate daughter of Bertha de Aragon."

Alejandro told Miranda he's giving her the reserved shares of her father's company, adding, "It's a long story. I'll tell you later." Miranda was pleased but told him the business and shares are his, not hers.

The family started to gather for their confrontation with Bertha. Gonzalo told Fernanda, "This is the best moment for Renata to know the truth." Renata told Fernanda to leave because it was a family occasion. Fernanda said, "I am a part of this family."

Gonzalo said to Renata, "I told you I would tell you who your mother is." Renata said excitedly, "Is it Bertha?" Bertha arrived and announced, "Your mother is her. Fernanda de Aragon."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 74

Renata brought Fernanda some juice, who was delighted. She told Juan, "It might be a little acid, but to me it's like honey." Juan said, "You are going to recover your daughter."

On their honeymoon (lots of scenes of kissing on the beach, kissing in a pool, kissing on a boat, kissing on the beach again), Alejandro told Miranda, "I have many things to tell you." Obviously he was about to tell her about his revenge plot, but Miranda interrupted him, saying, "This is paradise. The only thing I care about is you and me." Alejandro said, "As you wish."

Later Miranda asked Alejandro if he'd had a lot of girlfriends. He said yes but he claimed he couldn't remember their names. Miranda teased him with questions until he said there was one named Carla, a lawyer from a political family, but "she's just a good friend."

Gonzalo went into Bertha's room. She said, "Aren't you afraid to be alone with a woman like me?" He snarled, "No, it gives me grief," and pushed her onto her bed, asking why she never told him Florencia's condition is hereditary. Bertha said, "Because, frankly, I didn't think it was important."

Gonzalo asked why she didn't tell him Florencia didn't respond to any treatment. Bertha made some excuse and he said, "I don't believe anything. Where is Tomasa's granddaughter?"

Bertha said it's strange he's questioning her after all the years she's covered up his crime (shooting Alejandro's father). Gonzalo left. Bertha immediately called the Guapo (the man with the damaged hand) and told him to burn all the chocolate at the San Lorente hacienda. She said to herself, "A wedding gift, dear Miranda."

Florencia asked Juan, "The chances of my baby being born are reduced, aren't they? I'm not stupid. Tell me the truth." Juan said it's possible the baby can survive.

Daniel visited Raul and said, "I came to ask for your help. I love Carola and want to marry her. Help me or I'll go crazy."

He said usually he dates women of his own class, not prostitutes like Carola. His psychoanalyst thinks he has problems with women because of his parents' bad marriage. He learned from them that "love is equal to money." As he was telling Raul this, he suddenly seemed to realize that's why he fell in love with a prostitute, because "I have to pay."

After realizing this, he hastily left Raul's apartment. Raul asked if he still wants to marry Carola, and Daniel said, "I don't know." Then Erika arrived and Raul kissed her.

Roman visited Amparo and Francisco ordered him to leave. Roman told Amparo, "If I go, I'm never going to return. Think well, think very well."

Still on honeymoon, Miranda told Alejandro she plans to produce chocolate to export. Just then Gavino called to tell them the chocolate and the collectors' houses were on fire. Alejandro said he and Miranda would return home immediately.

While dreaming about the night her mother left home, Florencia had a heart attack. Fernanda raced into the room and Florencia woke up and said, "I know who you are, Mama." Then her heart apparently stopped. Fernanda and Juan revived her.

Fernanda started to give Florencia a shot, saying she didn't care if it killed the baby, but Juan stopped her.

Alejandro and Miranda arrived in Mexico City and received a call from Arcadia, who said the fire had been put out and no one was hurt. Nati told Arcadia, "The chocolate is going to save Miranda."

Fabricio called and told Miranda that Florencia had a heart attack, was in intensive care and couldn't receive visitors.

Bertha showed up at the hospital and Fabricio asked, "Why did you kill Florencia's doctors?" Bertha said, "What are you talking about?" then warned, "Take care what you are doing. This is not a game." I think she said she might tell the police that Fabricio is her accomplice, adding, "I don't threaten. I promise."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 73

Renata told Gonzalo, "I can't stay here. Juan is my husband." Gonzalo said, "Remember this is your house and I am your father."

Cesar and Juan asked Daniel and Angel to work with them. They accepted. Later Daniel told Raul and Carola that Cesar is a liar who didn't tell him and Angel the truth about their father being in the hospital.

Fabricio apologized to Alejandro and promised not to tell Florencia anything. Alejandro wondered how Cesar learned in such detail about his plot against Gonzalo.

Fernanda started to tell Gonzalo, "The man who was with me that night --" but was interrupted by Bertha's arrival. Bertha was upset to hear about Miranda's marriage to Alejandro.

Gonzalo and Fernanda tried to question Bertha about the night of the shooting, but Bertha refused to answer. Gonzalo said, "Then get out of my house," and Bertha replied, "Be very careful what you do. I will tell Florencia the truth." She taunted Gonzalo because he doesn't know who Florencia's father is.

After Bertha left, Gonzalo asked Fernanda who the father was. (I missed a few minutes of the episode but I don't think Fernanda told him.)

Fabricio told his mother that Alejandro was the one who bought the country house. Julio moved out of Rebeca's house.

Gonzalo asked Charo to watch Bertha and tell him everything she does.

Fernanda told Bertha that she knows Bertha was the one who shot Alfredo Luque. Bertha said she never wanted to kill Alfredo; she was trying to kill Fernanda. She said, "I have always hated you. I returned to make you suffer, and also Miranda. Take care what you do, or the pain of your daughters will be terrrible and unbearable. This is between you, me, and Miranda."

After Bertha left, Fernanda said to the sleeping Florencia, "I'm not going to let her hurt you or your sisters."

Juan didn't believe that Renata really wants to live with him. Amparo showed him the money Renata gave her and said it was as if Renata meant to say, "This is my house. This is my family." She said she already regards Renata as a daughter and a friend. Francisco told Juan, "Fight for her." Juan agreed, "I am going to do it."

Renata told Juan, "It's difficult to change. Please help me." Juan said, "I'm not going to let you go ever."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 72

Cesar said, "I am going to stop this. Miranda can't marry that imbecile." Julio tried to restrain him and they got into a fight. Gonzalo yelled at Cesar that Julio is his father.

Veronica told Fabricio that she's HIV positive and she wants 50,000 pesos to pay for her medication or she'll tell Florencia about their affair.

During Miranda and Alejandro's wedding, Cesar imagined himself shooting Miranda, then saying, "I told you, you are mine or no one's."

After the wedding, Cesar hugged Alejandro and said into his ear, "I swear to God, you are going to be sorry. It will cause you incalculable pain." Alejandro replied, "Do anything against me and I'll kill you, Cesar."

Cesar dragged Lisania away from the party and ranted at her for not telling him about the wedding plans. She said, "I didn't know!"

After shouting a while, Cesar put on his fake sad face and said, "I open my heart to you, and you destroy it. Why?" I think he threatened to kill himself in front of her if she doesn't do as he says, then ordered her to come to his apartment tonight, saying, "Prepare yourself, because you are going to receive your punishment."

Lisania told Renata she's in love, "I'm the happiest woman in the world," but refused to tell Renata who the man was. Then Lisania smiled happily and said (I think??), "He hits me." (Or "he pays me" which could be a reference to getting her inheritance from Alejandro -- ???)

Florencia told Fabricio she must be adopted because her heart problem is hereditary. Fabricio said, "These are fantasies, nothing more."

Cesar and Julio asked Rebeca to explain why she never told them Julio was Cesar's father. Rebeca explained that her husband was sterile, so he and she picked Julio to be the father of their children. Julio was not happy to hear this.

Fabricio told Alejandro, "Miranda is mine." Alejandro replied, "I am going to forget this because you don't know what you're saying."

Daniel and Angel told Miranda that Cesar was the one who convinced them to accuse Gonzalo of fraud. Miranda refused to believe them, saying they have no proof. She and Alejandro bickered about it, then agreed not to argue on their wedding day.

Daniel and Angel went to Rebeca's house and Cesar said sarcastically that it was a family reunion. Daniel angrily asked Julio what Cesar meant, and Cesar said, "I can't permit you to shout at my father."

Daniel and Angel of course were shocked. Cesar told them, "Things have to change now that we are brothers." Reluctantly they agreed to try to get along with Cesar and his family.

Fabricio told Fernanda that he's angry at Alejandro for using him in his plot against Gonzalo. Fernanda pointed out that Alejandro hasn't actually done anything to Gonzalo.

Then Fab. told Fernanda that Bertha has been secretly visiting Germany. They agreed that she probably killed Florencia's German doctors. Fernanda said, "We have to investigate how they died and where Bertha is now."

Gonzalo told Francisco that he wants Renata and Juan to live with him. Francisco didn't seem to like the idea. Gonzalo asked Renata if she married Juan to defy him. Renata said no, "I love him." Gonzalo said, "This is your home. You can stay."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 71

Leonardo told Andrea and Pamela he is going to close a bank account and move the money out of the country to protect them. They asked what's going on but he didn't give them any details.

Andrea told Pamela she remembers (in the past when her husband disappeared) running away from men and returning home later to find the house had burned down.

Andrea begged Leonardo to run away and save his life if he's in danger. Pamela told Leonardo she's afraid Andrea's revived memories will bring back her depression and cause her to be institutionalized again. Leonardo comforted Pamela and said he wants to help her and Andrea. (Pamela doesn't know that he's not really her father.)

Rebeca admitted to Fabricio, "You and Cesar are the sons of Julio," but told him not to tell Cesar or Julio's other sons. She said Julio doesn't know. Fabricio was angry at her.

Gonzalo told Miranda that Alejandro's father couldn't have been the man he shot because Alejandro's father was shot in the back and Gonzalo was facing the man he shot.

Angel told Julio (his father) that Daniel can't have a relationship with a woman unless she's a prostitute. Daniel said he's seeing a psychoanalyst about this. Julio said he'll make an appointment for Daniel with a urologist because it might be a physical problem.

Miranda told Alejandro that Gonzalo was facing the man who shot him. Alejandro (who still hasn't told Miranda about his revenge plot) got sick to his stomach and had to leave. Alejandro thought if Gonzalo didn't shoot his father, it must have been Fernanda or Bertha.

Leonardo asked Pamela to go to the bank with him. He took the money out of the bank in a large suitcase.

After he left, a federal investigation agent showed up and introduced himself to the banker (Fermin) as Ambrosio Toris. He said Leonardo's withdrawal was irregular and Fermin is a suspected accomplice.

Luciano told Alejandro that the secret clause in his father's will invalidates the earlier will Bertha found.

Cesar married Nuria but refused to take her to Miranda's party. When he arrived at Miranda's house, Lisania told him, "We're waiting for the bride. Miranda and Alejandro are going to marry."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 70

Pamela told Miranda that Alejandro came to her apartment to talk about a wedding present. Miranda believed this.

Santiago gave Tomasa's papers to Fernanda and warned her not to tell anyone she has them, saying, "Bertha is waiting to attack."

The man with the deformed hand showed up at the church and asked Santiago to help him. I think Santiago gave him a job cleaning the church. Fernanda also invited the man to go somewhere. After hearing her name, the man agreed, saying, "I love old people and children."

While pretending to clean, the man searched the church. Bertha called him and he told her he couldn't find what she told him to look for.

Fabricio told Cesar that he loves Miranda and he's sure she still loves him, even though she says she doesn't. He said Florencia doesn't have long to live, and after she dies he'll win Miranda back, "it's only a matter of time."

Luciano told Alejandro he's been calling Cesar but Cesar doesn't answer, that Cesar may have learned that Luciano is working for Alejandro. Alejandro said no, "Cesar is lucky, not so intelligent." Lisania overheard this.

Lisania came into the room and Alejandro demanded, "What's going on with you?" He asked why she didn't come to the hospital to give blood to Florencia, "She's your sister, too!" Lisania said, "I don't want to donate blood to Florencia!"

Daira demanded to know where Lisania was but Lisania refused to answer. Daira slapped her and said, "I am your mother! Respect me!" Lisania said, "I hate you both!"

Daira told Alejandro, "Things will never be like before. I feel a negative energy." Alejandro said he'll talk to Lisania about returning to Italy. Daira said that won't happen because it's not Lisania's destiny.

Alejandro tried to talk to Lisania but she said she was leaving home and she wanted her inheritance tomorrow or she would sue for it. He told her to go back to her room or he would send her back to Italy, "You know I'll do it."

Then he noticed a bruise on her neck (from Cesar) and asked where she got it. She said it's nothing, some boxes from her closet fell on her, that Daira can confirm this. Alejandro later asked Daira, who said she didn't know anything about it.

Luciano told Alejandro, "This isn't the Lisania I know. It's someone else." Alejandro wondered if Lisania had been using drugs.

Miranda told Charo she will marry Alejandro tomorrow. Gonzalo asked Miranda what happened with the harvest. She said Bertha told the cocoa collectors they would never receive a raise. Gonzalo said, "That is a lie!" but Miranda said the men believed Bertha.

Gonzalo said, "Tell me how you feel," and Miranda said, "I feel like a failure." Gonzalo asked, "Is that why you're marrying Alejandro?" but she said no, "I'm marrying Alejandro because I love him." She also told Gonzalo, "Now Bertha has in her hands Alejandro's entire fortune."

Fernanda told Amparo and Francisco that Miranda is having a party tomorrow and they're invited. They worried about not having nice clothes to wear. Amparo told Francisco, "We're not going. I'd rather die than let Renata's father humiliate us."

Renata told Raul, "If you feel something for Erika, you should tell her." Raul said he doesn't want to give Erika false expectations because it might end up like his relationship with Lisania.

Carola arrived and told Raul and Juan about her job interview. Renata overheard Carola saying she was a former prostitute. She told Juan she won't eat at the same table with Carola. Juan and Raul left the house so Renata and Carola could talk privately.

Renata told Carola, "I'll give you five minutes, no more." Carola said, "I've always been in love with Juan," and Renata started ranting, calling Carola names and saying, "I have always been a decent woman." Carola said she wants to be Renata's friend, and Renata replied, "Girls like me don't have friends like you."

Nuria told Cesar, "Marry me tomorrow or I'll tell Alejandro about you and Lisania." To her surprise, Cesar agreed.

Miranda told Gonzalo that she suspects the man he shot years ago was Alejandro's father. Gonzalo remembered Alejandro saying his father was shot and suffered pain for years from the bullets in his back. He told Miranda, "No, the man was not Alejandro's father." Miranda asked, "How can you be so sure?"

Luciano gave Alejandro the prenuptial contract he and Miranda have to sign tomorrow according to Alejandro's father's will. Alejandro said there is yet another clause in his father's will but it is secret. He asked Luciano to spend the entire night on the phone with his contacts in Italy, trying to learn what the secret clause is.

Fabricio asked his mother, "You, my father, my grandparents, none of us have light eyes. Where did Cesar get these eyes?"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 69

Roman told Amparo it's natural for them to live together once they're married. Amparo said, "Without my family, I'm going to die." Roman said he expects to live in the same house with her and sleep in the same bed, "I don't want a sister, much less a mother."

Later Amparo asked herself, "What do I tell Roman? Do I want to marry him or not?"

Somehow Pamela figured out the code Leonardo showed her. It turned out to be a bank account number and password. Leonardo went to the bank with this information and said he wanted to close the account. The banker replied, "It takes 24 hours for an account of this magnitude," and said it's painful to lose such a good customer.

Miranda asked Alejandro and Gonzalo to drop their grudge against Cesar. Fabricio said, "No one has any proof against Cesar!"

Veronica's doctor advised her to keep her medical appointments, take her medication, and "of course" not to take drugs. Veronica was angry about being told how to run her life. Erika told Renata that Veronica is scared. Renata said she didn't know how to help Veronica but she would talk to Juan about it.

Gonzalo and Fernanda assured Florencia that the danger to her health had passed. Florencia said, "My baby is going to be born." Privately Gonzalo asked Fernanda what Florencia's true condition was. Fernanda said Florencia's "health will deteriorate rapidly," that she needs a heart transplant but can't have it while pregnant.

Florencia told Fabricio she would ask Gonzalo to forgive Cesar. Fabricio thanked her. Florencia and Fabricio said something about welcoming Juan into the family. They planned a dinner party and Renata said she would cook.

Nuria caught Cesar with Lisania. Cesar sent Lisania into his bedroom to wait for him, then assured Nuria that he was only seeing Lisania for business reasons. Nuria idiotically chose to believe this.

Alejandro got a phone call from Bertha, who told him she will destroy all his father's jewelry designs unless he meets her in Paris. He assured Miranda that he would stay in Mexico and marry her instead of going to see Bertha because Miranda is more important to him than money.

Alejandro called Lisania and ordered her to come to the hospital immediately to donate blood to Florencia or he'll never speak to her again. Cesar ordered Lisania not to give blood to Florencia, yelling, "I'm not as stupid as your brother! I'm a man, and you're going to treat me with respect!" He also accidentally called her "Nuria," but like Nuria, Lisania forgave him for everything.

Pamela was angry at Luciano for not telling her that he knew Alejandro. Alejandro visited Pamela and started to explain, "I came to Mexico to get revenge against Gonzalo. When I fell in love with Miranda, I decided to stop seeking revenge."

Just then Miranda showed up at Pamela's apartment, saw Alejandro, and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Heridas de Amor - Episode 68

Gonzalo remembered the night of the shooting and thought, "I trusted Bertha's word, but what if the man is alive? Cesar knows the man's name."

Raul told Amparo about Renata's bet that she could get Juan to propose marriage. Amparo was appalled.

Alejandro arrived at the hacienda with Fernanda, who determined that Florencia was hemorrhaging, so Alejandro took Florencia to the hospital in his helicopter.

Renata went home to tell Gonzalo about Florencia's hospitalization. She looked around the house and imagined her reflection telling her, "Stay. This is your world," but she replied to it, "You are lonely. Hear the silence of sadness."

At the hospital, Miranda asked Renata if she's happy with Juan. Renata said, "Yes, but I didn't know how they live." I think Miranda advised Renata to get a job so she can see things from Juan's perspective. Renata said, "I am going to do it."

The doctor told Gonzalo that Florencia's baby is fine, "Now the problem is her heart." Gonzalo told Fernanda, "Save our daughter." Fernanda said, "I want to, but it depends on her."

Florencia woke up and told Gonzalo, "If I die, don't do anything to Fabricio. I was the one who broke up his relationship with Miranda because Aunt Bertha told me to." Gonzalo said, "If you want to see your mother, tell me," but Florencia said, "No, I don't want to see that woman. I don't care if she exists or not." Fernanda overheard this and was upset.

A doctor told Juan it will be a miracle if Florencia survives.

Fernanda apologized to Gonzalo for not telling him that he wasn't Florencia's father. Gonzalo said, "Why did you do it? I would have accepted Florencia without reservations." Fernanda said, "I don't know. I don't understand myself," that as a mother she wanted to protect her child from a hostile environment.

Lisania phoned Cesar and told him she was going to the hospital with Daira to see Florencia. Cesar told her not to go, to forget that Florencia is her sister, saying he would be angry if she didn't do as he said. So Lisania refused to go to the hospital, telling Daira, "Alejandro is there to represent the three of us."

Florencia needed a blood transfusion but no one had her blood type except Lisania. Alejandro tried to call her but couldn't reach her. Cesar showed up to donate his blood. He mentally gloated, "Now the San Lorente family and the Luque family both owe me a favor. In this life, absolutely nothing is free."

Carola applied for a job. The interviewer asked why she had no previous work experience and Carola was forced to admit she was a prostitute. She insisted she wants to leave that life and the interviewer gave her the job.

Gonzalo told Renata, "When Bertha returns, we are going to talk about everything, including your mother."

Charo told Miranda she wasn't able to find something in Florencia's room --? I didn't understand this conversation, but Miranda muttered that Bertha always manipulates Florencia.

Roman visited Amparo. She told him to leave because he was investigating Fernanda. He protested, "It is my job. I am an investigator." He said he's not working for Gonzalo anymore, "I have closed that chapter of my life," then mentioned a wedding. Amparo was surprised. Roman asked, "Don't you want to marry me?"

Amparo said yes but Francisco will object. Roman said, "Then we will be officially boyfriend and girlfriend, and I will ask for your hand." He also said, "When we are married, we will live together at my house" and Amparo looked startled.

Francisco told Gonzalo that Cesar donated blood to Florencia. Miranda hugged Cesar and thanked him, but Gonzalo said, "Let go of her, Cesar."

"Heridas de Amor" Theme Song

I'm very taken with the theme song for "Heridas de Amor." The lyrics (and an audio file of the entire song) are here. The singer, Ricardo Montaner, is apparently very popular, and I'm not surprised.

Unfortunately, the song doesn't appear to be available on CD, or if it is, I can't find it...

Well, no sooner did I post that on the blog than yes, I found it at Amazon.com. It's on the special edition of the CD "Todo y Nada," and here's a link.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 67

Amparo told Fernanda, "Guess what? Renata is going to make dinner." She also told Fernanda about the money Renata gave her for food. Fernanda said, "Renata is not a bad person! Bertha couldn't corrupt her soul."

Alejandro told Daira, "Lisania is being manipulated. Her attitude is not normal." Luciano arrived and told them Bertha has the right to claim their entire fortune (due to the will she found in Alfredo's portfolio). Alejandro exclaimed, "It can't be!"

Charo told Fernanda that she gave Tomasa's papers to Santiago, and that Bertha and the dog weren't really in the kitchen when Tomasa fell to her death.

Miranda called Alejandro and told him about the visit of the man with the deformed hand, known as "the Guapo" (the handsome). She said she didn't know how he got into the house because no one let him in.

Miranda also said, "Don't tell anyone, but we're all returning to Mexico City tomorrow" and she wants to marry Alejandro immediately. She had a premonition that if she doesn't marry him now, she never will. Alejandro agreed to the hasty wedding, then told Luciano and Daira that he has to delay his trip to Europe to see Bertha.

Roman asked Cesar, "If you're working for Gonzalo, why doesn't he know anything I told you?" He pulled a gun and (I think) warned Cesar not to bother Amparo's family or Fernanda again. Then he gave Cesar his report on Nuria, saying, "She is the natural daughter of Bertha de Aragon."

Cesar said to himself, "Nuria is Bertha's illegitimate daughter, and only I know." He called someone (Sanson?) and I think(?) he said he wants someone killed.

Francisco told his family that he's about to buy their first car. Everyone was excited except Renata, who was surprised that they'd never owned a car. She asked Amparo if Francisco is always so happy, then started to tell Amparo, "I want you to help me convince Juan --" but Francisco interrupted before Renata could finish.

Francisco hugged Renata and said she's like a daughter to him. Renata remembered Gonzalo's harsh treatment of her and thought, "I never want to go back to you." She served dinner and the family said her cooking was delicious. For the first time, Renata seemed happy.

Nati told Miranda that cocolbosh is in the heart, it's an "effect women have on chocolate." Miranda said it's hard to believe in such things in 2006.

Florencia arrived and said, "I am bleeding! Something is happening to the baby." Fabricio raced to town to get a doctor.

Miranda called Fernanda, who told Renata that Florencia may be having a miscarriage. Renata begged Fernanda to save her sister. Fernanda said she can't promise anything but "I would give my life to save Florencia and the baby."

Renata called Alejandro, who said he'll immediately take a helicopter to the hacienda.

Lisania told Cesar that Bertha has her father's old will, giving her control of his entire fortune. Her father intended to give it to Fernanda on the night he was shot. Cesar asked why he didn't later invalidate the will. I think Lisania said he didn't think it necessary because he'd left the line for the beneficiary blank.

Cesar reflected to himself that Nuria is Bertha's daughter, so all Bertha's money will go to Nuria, "my little girl."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 66

Nati gave Miranda a cup of something. Miranda said she didn't want any chocolate, but Nati said it was "cocolbosh." Miranda drank it and said it was delicious. Nati told Arcadia, "She will look for it tomorrow, and she will find it."

The next day Miranda and Pamela went to a fair and looked at some chocolate wine. Later Miranda told Pamela, "Chocolate is Mexico's gift to the world" and then said something about fermenting and exporting chocolate. Pamela thought it was a great idea.

Santiago asked Alejandro to stop investigating Fermin, the banker who framed Santiago years ago. Alejandro said, "He may be a good person, but he made a mistake and he has to pay! You may forgive him, but I don't." Santiago said, "Don't insist! Leave things as they are!" Alejandro agreed to drop the investigation.

Later Alejandro visited Fermin and asked if Bertha was the one who told him to lie to the church about Santiago. Fermin admitted, "Yes, it was Bertha de Aragon." He told Alejandro he has some papers that can incriminate Bertha. Alejandro asked him to keep the papers in a safe place in case they need them later.

Cesar told Gonzalo, "You are the victim of a terrible revenge. Many years ago you killed a man. Are you sure this man is dead?" Gonzalo thought back and remembered Bertha checking Alfredo's body and saying, "You killed him!"

Cesar told Gonzalo, "I think it is important to know the name of the dead man," and I think he said he would investigate. After Cesar left, Vicente (the lawyer) told Gonzalo, "I have the impression Cesar knows more than he is telling." Gonzalo said, "The only name that comes to my mind is Alejandro Luque."

After telling Sanson to take him to Roman's house, Cesar thought, "After this, Miranda will never marry Alejandro. Now all I need is Bertha's version of the story."

Amparo told Renata she only has a small amount of money to feed the family. Shocked, Renata looked at the money and said, "We're all going to eat on that?" Amparo said yes. Renata tried to give Amparo some money, but Amparo refused it, saying, "It's yours."

Erika arrived and Renata left with her, leaving the money on the table for Amparo. Amparo said, "With this we can eat for a year!"

Renata whined to Erika and Veronica, "I can't live poor, I can't, I can't!" Veronica said something I didn't entirely understand -- I think she said Renata should insist on living at the San Llorente mansion, spend all Juan's earnings on clothes, and give Juan's family etiquette lessons -- something like that. (Don't ask me why Renata would take advice from Veronica.)

Erika met Raul and told him about Renata's bet that she could get Juan to propose marriage.

The mystery man with the damaged arm told Miranda, "I want you to sell me the hacienda. Give me a price." Miranda said, "The hacienda is not for sale!" The man said menacingly, "I'm only going to make three offers. This is the first." Miranda pointed a gun at him and told him to leave. He said, "I'll be back. If not for the hacienda, for you."

Miranda told Fabricio and Gabino that the "horrible man" who wants to buy the hacienda is tall and has a deformed hand. Gabino recognized the description and said Alejandro previously had a confrontation with that man.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 65

Miranda told Florencia, "I'm going to marry Alejandro because I love him" (not for money).

Gonzalo called Miranda and said he knows about the theft of the cocoa but these things happen. Miranda said, "It's all my fault." I think Gonzalo said he might visit the hacienda soon.

Alejandro begged Fabricio not to tell Miranda about his revenge plot, saying he himself will tell Miranda and Gonzalo in time. He warned Fabricio, "If anything happens to Florencia, you will pay, I swear. If Florencia finds out, she will die."

Alejandro told Miranda his father's will stipulated that Alejandro's bride must sign a prenuptial agreement giving up all rights to his fortune. Miranda said, "What's the problem? I'll sign. I'm marrying you, not your fortune." Alejandro said also he will lose his inheritance unless he and his wife have a child within one year of their marriage. Miranda agreed to that, too.

Daniel told Carola he's been talking to his psychologist about his relationship with her. He asked Carola to "work" for him, saying he'll set her up in an apartment. Carola said no, she wants "another life."

Raul arrived and told Daniel about Renata's marriage to Juan. Daniel said no, it's impossible, Renata would only have married someone like Juan as a joke. Raul told Carola he'll ask Erika about that.

Pamela angrily told Miranda to stop trying to save her family, "Open your eyes! Your family doesn't exist!" She pointed out that Gonzalo's not there, Florencia lives "in a world of crystal," and Fernanda is busy trying to save Florencia and regain Renata, so Miranda is all alone.

Miranda replied that she could go far away with Alejandro and live "every woman's dream," forgetting about her family, but no, she is determined to stay and reunite her family. Pamela apologized for her outburst.

Charo (the maid) decided to give Tomasa's papers to Fernanda. She gave Fernanda a note when Gonzalo wasn't looking.

Gonzalo told Fernanda about Tomasa's last words, "She also shot." He asked what she recalls about the night of the shooting but she said her memories are confused. She said Tomasa said her two sons died when they were putting the body in the river, and Bertha took Tomasa's granddaughter away on the same night. She also told Gonzalo that Tomasa and Nati disposed of the gun.

Juan mentioned birth control to Renata and she said, "You don't want a child with me?" Juan said yes, but not right away, he wants to wait till they have their own place with a garden for their children to play in, a good school nearby, etc. Renata agreed.

Juan also said he's known Fernanda since he was a child and she's "an extraordinary woman. If you're rude to her, I'll be angry."

Alejandro told Lisania that Bertha has their father's earlier will, which is still valid, so they could lose their fortune. I think Lisania told him to marry Bertha, but Alejandro said, "You're crazy if you think I'm going to marry Bertha!" Lisania said if she loses her inheritance she'll never forgive Alejandro.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 64

After Renata awoke from her faint, she and her father immediately started bickering. Gonzalo said, "I am your father. The one who isn't my daughter is Florencia!"

Upon hearing that Gonzalo was visiting the neighborhood, Juan asked Renata, "Do you want to leave with him?" He dragged her into the kitchen and said, "This is where you're going to spend a lot of time. If you want to leave, I understand. We made a mistake, but we have time to fix it."

Renata packed her bags, but then told Juan, "I don't want to leave. I love you. I want to be with you. Please don't throw me out. This is the only home I have." Amparo said, "It is poor, very poor, but it is your home," and they all hugged.

Fernanda arrived to see if Renata was OK. Renata snapped, "I don't need your help. What my Aunt Bertha said is true. You are my father's lover!"

Nuria told Fabricio that Cesar sold the country house to raise money for Gonzalo's bail. Later Cesar told Fabricio what he learned from Lisania about Alejandro's revenge plot. Fabricio said, "Alejandro is going to be sorry. All this time he's been getting information from me for his revenge!"

Nuria told Cesar when she passed a room in the San Llorente hacienda she hd a strange feeling that she recognized it, that she had been there in dreams or in another life. She showed him a doll and said she recognized it, too. Cesar snarled, "I'm not interested in fantasy problems!"

Alejandro met a mysterious bad guy and tried to buy information from him. The man said, "Don't question me, Blond. I'll send you to the devil!" When Alejandro persisted, the man pulled a gun on him. After Alejandro left, the man telephoned Bertha.

Miranda was upset because all the cocoa she and the other women harvested was stolen. (The mysterious bad guy was responsible for the theft.) She told Alejandro, "I lost the harvest. I don't have my parents. My sisters don't love me. I only have you, Alejandro. Swear I won't ever lose you. I am dying, I am dying." Alejandro said she can recuperate the lost money from the second harvest.

Fabricio yelled at Alejandro, "You used me to get revenge on my godfather! I trusted in your sincere friendship!" Alejandro apologized and said he has become Fabricio's true friend, but Fabricio didn't accept that.

Renata went to bed with a fever and Amparo took care of her. Fernanda told Gonzalo about it on the phone, and Gonzalo asked, "How can she recover in the inhuman conditions she's living in?" Juan got angry at Gonzalo's attitude and said Renata only has a cold.

Renata dreamed Carola came into her room and said, "Do you know why Juan married you? It was a bet! He won, and the prize was my body!" Renata cried, "No, Juan loves me, only me!"

Vicente told Gonzalo about the theft of the cocoa and warned, "The hacienda is in the same condition as the business."

Miranda cried to Florencia about the loss of the cocoa. Florencia became impatient and said if she can face dying, Miranda can deal with this problem. Miranda agreed and promised to find a solution to their money troubles. Florencia said, "We are close to losing everything. You have no option. Marry Alejandro. I don't see any other way out."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 63

Cesar told Lisania he was tricked into selling his country house to Luciano (who will give it to Alejandro). I think Lisania said she'll help him get the house back.

Fabricio told Florencia he has to go somewhere on business. Florencia yelled that she doesn't want him to leave her side. The next day she apologized for "reacting that way last night."

Alejandro told Daira he had a premonition that something bad would happen to Miranda.

Miranda discovered that the cocoa plants are infested and got upset. Alejandro showed up and comforted her.

Renata was angry at Fernanda for telling Florencia about her marriage to Juan. She told Fernanda, "You think we're going to be friends, but we're not going to be anything!"

Roman slipped up and revealed that he knows a lot about Fernanda. Amparo and Francisco questioned him, and he admitted that he's a detective investigating Fernanda, but said he now regards Amparo and Francisco as his family (or something to that effect). They told him to leave their house.

Florencia called Gonzalo and started to cry when she heard his voice because she hadn't spoken to him in a while. She told him she loves him.

Then Florencia asked Nuria to tell her what it's like to work for Gonzalo, saying, "I only know him as a father."

Renata and Erika asked Veronica if she knows who gave her AIDS. She showed them a list of her sexual partners. Renata every man at their club is on the list. Veronica said, "I'm going to die, and all the world is going to pay!" She went outside and tried to pick up a stranger, asking him to take her somewhere "more intimate," but his girlfriend arrived and dragged him away.

Daira told Renata and Erika that she's worried because Lisania asked for her inheritance. I think they said they'll try to find out what's going on.

The hospital administrator asked Juan to teach an anatomy class (I think). Juan was pleased to get the job.

Florencia told Fabricio that Cesar sold the "mangrove swamp" -- I guess this is the name of their country house.

Gonzalo visited Fernanda. Renata showed up and Gonzalo asked, "What are you doing here?" Renata passed out.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 62

After asking Alejandro why he previously called off their business deal, Gonzalo said, "Leave and think about your reply, because everything depends on this."

Rebeca told Miranda that Cesar loves her. Miranda insisted, "I don't love Cesar as a man." Fernanda arrived and Miranda treated her angrily because Miranda now knows that Florencia isn't Gonzalo's daughter. Fernanda told Rebeca, "I have lost her."

Miranda returned to Tabasco and told the women workers at the hacienda, "We are alone. Only we have hands to work." She asked if they would help (harvest cocoa, I think), and the women agreed.

Alejandro told Gonzalo that he called off their deal only for business reasons. Gonzalo seemed to accept this explanation. Next he asked, "Why do you protect Fernanda?" and Alejandro said, "She and Bertha were friends of my mother." Gonzalo seemed to accept that too.

Alejandro said, "I need to know that you agree to my wedding." Gonzalo replied, "Yes, go ahead. I only ask that you make her happy." Alejandro said, "Miranda is my entire life."

Cesar visited Fernanda and told her that he loves Miranda, but she's "confused" and thinks she loves Alejandro. Fernanda said, "Miranda is not confused. She really is in love with Alejandro, and there's nothing you and I can do."

Nuria arrived to stay at the hacienda (for some reason Bertha insisted Nuria go there). She and Florencia discussed their pregnancies. Nuria passed out and Florencia had to revive her because everyone else was out picking cocoa. She told Nuria that Juan would return to the hacienda in 24 hours. Then she called Fernanda, who told her that Juan married Renata. Florencia was surprised.

Alejandro told Luciano to draw up papers to give Lisania her inheritance. Lisania overheard this and was pleased. She didn't hear Alejandro revealing that he doesn't really intend to give Lisania the money, he just wants to find out "for what and for who" she wants it.

Gonzalo called Bertha and snarled, "Why did you never tell me that Florencia's disease is hereditary? Of course it matters! I want answers, or don't come back!" then hung up.

Renata made breakfast for Juan, Amparo, and Francisco. They said it was delicious, but she left the room crying because she still feels out of place among poor people (how tragic). Amparo and Francisco told Juan to go after her.

Renata asked Juan how long he's going to treat her coldly. He said he needs time. She told him that Bertha gave her some money and mentioned that she needs clothes. Juan said, "Spend it on what you want. It's your money." Renata replied, "It's our money now." Juan told her to buy some clothes and take Erika with her.

A man (hidden from viewers) called Bertha and said everything is ready to carry out her plan at the hacienda. He said Miranda and Florencia are both there.

Lisania told Cesar that she overheard Alejandro and Luciano talking about her inheritance. Cesar's mother called just then to tell Cesar that Miranda said she loves Alejandro, which angered Cesar.

He hung up and asked Lisania if Luciano is working for Alejandro. She said yes, Luciano does whatever Alejandro says (or words to that effect). To Lisania's surprise, Cesar (realizing he was tricked by Luciano), went nuts, breaking things in his apartment and slashing his paintings with a long knife or sword.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 61

Gonzalo told Renata never to return to his house again. She said she'll just go home to get her clothes, but he said no, she can't because "everything in the house belongs to me." He said Juan won't be able to pay Renata's credit card bills because Juan doesn't make that much money in two or three years. Juan said he has nothing to give Renata but love.

After they left Gonzalo's office, Renata again begged Juan to forgive her. He said, "You wounded me, Renata. For a wound of love, there is no cure," then kissed her.

Fabricio told Fernanda he received an email informing him that Florencia's German doctors are dead. Fernanda said she suspects Bertha of killing them, but Fabricio didn't believe it.

Carola accompanied Amparo to the supermarket and decided to apply for a job there.

Roman helped Francisco set up his own taxi company.

Bertha telephoned Florencia and told her where to find a large envelope hidden behind a mirror in Bertha's room. Charito saw Florencia in Bertha's room and Florencia warned her not to tell anyone she was there.

Fernanda yelled at Rebeca for telling Gonzalo that Florencia isn't his daughter. Rebeca begged Fernanda to forgive her. Fernanda worried that Bertha will deliberately reveal the truth to Florencia at "the precise moment that will cause the most pain." Rebeca said, "Let me help you" because of "the great love Cesar has for your daughter." Daira, who was present during this conversation, looked surprised.

Veronica learned she is HIV positive. She told the doctor it's impossible because she's only had sex with men. The doctor assured her that she has HIV. He mentioned her family and she yelled, "No one can know I have it!" I think she also said the person who gave it to her is going to pay.

Two bimbos approached Luciano in a restaurant. They told Pamela they previously met Luciano at Cesar's country house. Pamela passed this information on to Miranda.

Juan told Renata and Erika that Veronica is HIV positive. (They didn't seem very upset.)

After Erika left, Renata asked Juan if he forgives her. Juan said he doesn't know now whether she really loves him, "How do I know you didn't bet that you would stay with me for two or three months, or if you married me to upset your father." Renata said, "Give me a chance, that's all I ask."

Cesar asked Sanson to tell him about Juan's family. He seemed interested to hear that Amparo is friendly with Roman (Gonzalo's detective).

Alejandro and Miranda visited Gonzalo, who asked Miranda angrily, "Do you know who Luciano Sartori is?" I missed the next part of the conversation, but Gonzalo said something and Alejandro told Miranda, "Everything your father said has an explanation." Miranda replied, "I don't understand what either of you is talking about."

Gonzalo said something else but I didn't catch most of it. He called Luciano a coward. Miranda then got a phone call and left.

Alejandro told Gonzalo, "Let me help you," and they discussed ways to save the business. Gonzalo asked, "Why are you doing this, Alejandro?" Alejandro said, "Because I love your daughter."

Gonzalo said something else I didn't catch, but I think he asked why Alejandro sought revenge against him in the first place.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 60

Lisania demanded her inheritance from Alejandro, saying, "I want my money. I want to have my own life, to be independent."

Daira said worriedly, "It's a lot of money." Alejandro offered to get Lisania her own apartment and car, but Lisania insisted on receiving her full inheritance. Alejandro told Daira, "If Lisania demands it, we'll have to give her one-third of all we have."

Charito gave Alfredo Luque's portfolio to Miranda and Pamela, but it was empty. Miranda called Alejandro and told him he had it. He said he would come right over, hanging up before she could tell him it was empty.

Fernanda asked Juan why he went to Carola's apartment on his wedding night. Juan insisted he only went there to see Raul and to apologize because Renata was rude to Carola. Fernanda asked if he and Renata are happy, and Juan said yes. Fernanda asked him to help her reconcile with Renata.

After Sanson burst into the apartment, Renata told him Amparo and Francisco were home. He laughed and said no, they're out selling tacos and Juan is working at the hospital, so "now is a good time to get to know you better." He grabbed Renata and she started screaming for help. Cesar arrived and rescued her.

After throwing Sanson out, Cesar asked Renata, "What are you doing here?" She explained that she's married to Juan, adding that she loves Juan but he doesn't believe it.

The bank director visited Santiago and told him, "I work at a bank. I have a happy family, and I'm soon going to get a promotion at work. But years ago I made a mistake that could affect my family." He also said his mother is sick, and if Bertha gets him fired from his job his family will lose everything.

Santiago asked, "What are you thinking of doing?" and the banker said, "Denounce Bertha de Aragon." Santiago tried to talk him out of it, saying it will ruin the banker's life if he admits to taking part in Bertha's scheme years ago. The banker said, "Someone has to put a stop to this woman," but Santiago told him he'll ask Alejandro to drop his investigation of Bertha. The banker thanked him.

Gonzalo called a press conference and said he wants investors to know San Llorente investements didn't commit fraud, that his family name is still clean. A reporter surprised him by saying, "Years ago you committed a murder." Gonzalo said such stories are "rumors without proof," then ended the conference.

After the conference, Gonzalo snarled at Luciano, "You are not an investor or a businessman," that he knows Luciano is really working for Alejandro. He ordered Luciano to go back to "your boss" and tell him to be a man and stop working through Luciano, saying he expects to see Alejandro in person next time (or something to that effect).

Alejandro arrived at Miranda's house and inspected the empty portfolio. He said, "At this time, Bertha owns all my fortune."

Fabricio and Florencia returned from their trip and said a doctor in Miami told them Florencia is now responding well to her treatment. Miranda said Fernanda is arranging for Florencia to have a heart transplant after the baby is born.

After learning Bertha has gone to Europe, Florencia revealed that Bertha's previous trip was also to Europe (not New York, as she told the family). Miranda and Alejandro wondered what Bertha's up to. Alejandro said everything Bertha does is carefully planned out.

Alejandro told Fernanda that Miranda now knows Florencia isn't Gonzalo's daughter. She told him Gonzalo knows, too.

Cesar seems to have been working with Sanson all along, because after leaving Renata he bought Sanson new clothes and gave him a new name.

Fabricio received an email from Germany and gasped, "My God, it can't be!"

Renata visited Gonzalo's office and said, "I only came to tell you I'm married." Gonzalo said, "You married WHO?" and Juan arrived to say, "Me, Senor."

Heridas de Amor - Episode 59

Cesar told Lisania that he needs money because Gonzalo fired him without severance pay. She immediately offered to give him her own inheritance so he can start a business. Cesar thought, "The idiot Lisania will give me part of Alejandro's fortune!" then told Lisania she was "the future Senora Beltran" (ie his future wife).

Lisania explained that her father was a jewelry designer, that she was born in Italy, and their family was happy till her father's death changed Alejandro. "He became a different person. He wanted revenge." She said she'd tell Cesar the whole story later.

Cesar whined that she didn't trust him enough to tell him family secrets, so Lisania told him Gonzalo shot her father years ago and now Alejandro is seeking revenge. She said, "Don't tell anyone. If Alejandro found out, he'd never forgive me."

Meanwhile, Alejandro angrily reminded Bertha that he's with Miranda. She said, "You are a man, I am a woman. It's biological."

Later Miranda asked Alejandro what Bertha wanted. Alejandro said, "To marry me." Miranda got angry and demanded, "What did you tell her?" Alejandro said he told Bertha he wasn't interested, but Miranda continued yelling at him.

Alejandro said he would talk to Miranda later, after she calmed down. Miranda said (shades of her father), "If you leave, don't come back!" Alejandro told her she was behaving like a whimsical girl, then left.

Renata was rude to Amparo and they got into an argument. Renata called Amparo "the joke of the neighborhood." Amparo said, "I turn into a lion to defend my children," and Renata replied snottily, "You don't have children. They are your nephews, nothing more. You're like a nanny. No, a servant." Fernanda arrived and broke up the argument by inviting Renata to her apartment for coffee.

Daira and Alejandro were worried because Lisania didn't come home or answer calls to her cell phone. Alejandro said, "She's a woman and insists we don't treat her like a child." Daira said, "You're right, but it's different when it's your child."

Pamela told Miranda not to worry because Alejandro would never marry Bertha. Miranda said, "Bertha is not a monster. She is young." I think she also called Bertha beautiful. She added, "Alejandro is a man, not a saint," and "Alejandro is capable of doing anything for that portfolio."

Fernanda told Renata to remember that Amparo has been like a mother to Juan. Renata said she's going to enjoy telling Gonzalo tomorrow that she's married. She also said, "I hate my mother will all my soul. She is responsible for all of this," which of course upset Fernanda.

The next day Renata asked Juan to go with her to see Gonzalo, but he refused, saying, "Why? So he can insult me too?" Renata said to herself, "When my father finds out, he will kill me," then thought, "Aunt Bertha will help me!"

Miranda and Pamela searched Bertha's room for the porfolio. Charito told them Bertha went to Europe, and I think(?) she said Bertha gave her the portfolio.

Lisania came home and Daira asked, "Where were you all night?" Lisania said, "I'm of age. I don't have to explain!" Alejandro told her to respect her mother, "This is not a hotel." Lisania then impatiently demanded something -- I didn't catch what she said but I think she wants the money her father left her.

Heridas de Amor - Episode 58

Miranda told Alejandro, "Cesar wants a better relationship with you." Alejandro snarled, "That is never going to happen!" Disgusted, Miranda told him, "I don't have anything to say to you. Go away!"

Santiago warned Bertha, "I have in my hands proof of your sins." Bertha asked what he was talking about, and he said, "Tomasa's granddaughter."

Bertha ordered him to tell Alejandro to drop his investigation of how she framed Santiago years ago. She said something about making Santiago's superiors in the church suffer if he doesn't do as she says.

Santiago said he would speak to Alejandro, then told her to leave. Bertha insisted on confessing to him first. Later, after hearing her confession, he cried and prayed for help.

Veronica told Bertha what happened at Renata's wedding. Charito overheard them and asked, "Renata is married?"

When Juan returned home, Renata showed him that she had cleaned up the house. He inspected a glass and obviously didn't think it was clean enough, saying, "I don't know your concept of poor people, but in this house we are clean! In front of everyone we will pretend to be happy, but in private don't say a word to me, do you understand?" He told her to go to bed alone while he went to find his family.

Carola told Fernanda, "I hate her" (ie Renata). "She took all I want in the world." She said she wants to go to school and learn to dress better. Fernanda promised to help her. Carola hugged Fernanda and said, "I wish I had a mother like you," adding that she intends to win Juan's love from Renata. (Of course, Carola doesn't know Fernanda is Renata's mother.)

Gonzalo visited Fernanda and demanded, "Who is Florencia's real father?" Fernanda didn't answer. Gonzalo asked why she never told him that Florencia wasn't his child. Fernanda said, "When we got married, I didn't know I was pregnant." She found out on the honeymoon, and he was so happy that she couldn't tell him the truth.

Gonzalo told her to stop playing the part of a "suffering mother," then said he didn't have any daughters because Miranda has taken Fernanda's side, Renata hates him, and Florencia's not really his child. He said all of this is Fernanda's fault.

Bertha told Miranda, "Your sister isn't really Gonzalo's daughter." Miranda accused her of lying, saying, "You're a viper! Get out of my house!" Bertha said, "No one can throw me out."

Amparo asked if Renata wanted anything before bed. Renata was rude, and I think(?) she told Amparo that she and Juan are married in name only. Juan arrived and asked Amparo if Renata was upsetting her. Amparo said no, and Renata asked in her phony way, "How could I quarrel with this good woman?" then thanked Amparo for the wedding dress, dinner, and flowers.

Amparo left the room but continued to eavesdrop. Renata told Juan again that she wants to prove that she loves him. Juan brushed her off, saying, "For me, love is not an obligation or a game," and warned, "I don't want Mama Amparito to shed one tear because of you, understand?"

Alejandro was angry with Bertha for telling Miranda that Florencia isn't Gonzalo's daughter. He impatiently asked her for his father's designs, saying he will pay for them. Bertha said, "I don't want money. I want you."
